Damascus, 30 August (AKI) - Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez who is visiting Syria is due to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Damascus on Thursday. Chavez held talks with Syrian president Basher al-Assad on Wednesday. The two had met briefly the previous evening when Assad greeted Chavez upon his arrival in Damascus.
