In 2001, the scandal storm cloud that hovered over Washington DC rained on the Reverend Jesse Jackson and for once, he was one who got soaked.
First, there was the disclosure that he fathered a child with a subordinate from the Rainbow Coalition. That was, in and of itself, quite startling. Jesse Jackson has set himself up as a moral leader not just for the black Community, but for America.
He has preached to us the immorality of a variety of issues as they pertain to white America’s interaction with black America, always keeping a distinct separation between the two, of course.
That first scandal should have undermined his moral authority, but it did not. He was wasn’t even held accountable by the fact that he gave the mother of his illegitimate child thousands of dollars from his tax-exempt foundation for the purpose of moving her away and purchasing her a house in Los Angeles.
Jesse Jackson was quick on his feet. He maneuvered through that first scandal masterfully. He opted to lose his Reverend status to save himself. He has decided instead that he wanted to measured by a lower standard, that of a POLITICIAN.
His people argued that Jesse Jackson’s behavior is none of America’s business. Jesse Jackson is a BLACK leader and subject only to scrutiny from the black community.
I have news for them. There is only ONE America. There is no Black America and there is no White America anywhere except in Jesse Jackson’s mind. His people also argued that Americans let Bill Clinton get away with a sexual indiscretion and therefore, Americans would be racist hypocrites if they did not allow Jesse Jackson the same pass.
I guess if you say it in an angry tone, you can command respect for anything in some camps. But, to reasonable people this argument is horrible on many levels:
1. Jesse Jackson is a Reverend, a man who professes to be a representative and servant of God and on this he is not representing his boss very well.
2. The black community needs strong, moral leadership, as does all America. There are too many children in this country growing up without fathers, much to their detriment. There are too many men and women who are willing to undermine their marriages in infidelity, much to their own detriment and that of their children.
Jesse Jackson refused to explain himself as a Reverend, choosing to ignore the Biblical standards he IS held under. He could have used this moment to teach of God’s mercy and of our need for repentance and forgiveness. He missed a valuable opportunity.
3. Jesse Jackson was asked to be the spiritual advisor for the President of the United States. Bill Clinton is the first President since before Kennedy that did not call in Reverend Billy Graham as his spiritual advisor. Reverend Graham is quite old, but his son is carrying on for him and that ministry is quite strong.
Bill Clinton opted for Jesse Jackson. He was seen going in and out of the White House a lot during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, supposedly to counsel and pray with the Clintons. He was counseling Clinton on the issue of infidelity, while he coming to the White House with his mistress. She has been photographed along side him at the White House.
If we do the math, factoring in the child’s age, that child was conceived in August of 1998- the SAME month that Clinton went before the country to confess that he "did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky". Clinton was sure he getting picked on by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. That scandal led to Clinton’s Impeachment.
Jesse Jackson committed a disservice to Bill Clinton and to this country in not having been a REAL spiritual advisor, having taken this man to a true point of repentance and contrition. Bill Clinton never really said he was sorry he did it- he was just very sorry he got caught.
We also found that Jesse Jackson’s tax-exempt organization have had several bouts with misappropriation of funds and several incidences of inpropriety. Jesse Jackson used to speak against Budweiser, until he was given millions and his children ended up with Budweiser distributorships.
He used to speak out against the tobacco industry for willfully opting to intice black children to smoke, through skillful as campaigns. He was against that until the tobacco industry ponied up cash to him as well.
In an interview in August 2001, he was asked whether there were more problems in his foundation's bookkeeping. He answered that the American public did not need to know about any more. I’m sure he didn’t mean to say that. He is slipping under all the weight being bought to bear.
The worst scandal in all this is that the Mainstream media had been trumped. The people who worked hard to expose these real problems in the Jesse Jackson camp were not from the Washington Post or the New York Times or any other such organization. The National Inquirer, much to the shame of all the rest has landed these stories.
Five years went by and the Reverend just lay low and tried to let time slip by taking with it any memory of his wrong doings. The good old Reverend Jesse Jackson must have thought he had escaped being held accountable for all of his exposed scandals, but lately his name is being uttered by some very powerful lips and in a very negative light.
Dr. Bill Cosby has not forgotten how Jesse Jackson traded personal advancement and power over upholding his own community and he’s running around reminding everyone. So is Juan Williams who is promoting his book, Enough, a cry out against the direction and leadership Jesse Jackson has offered the Black community.
Once again, Jesse Jackson didn’t just perpetrate against the Black Community, he wrapped himself around the Rainbow Coalition flag and diminished the America we all live in.

It's obvious that the left feels that blacks are too stupid to be held accountable for their worng doing. Why, it isn't their fault, the left must be saying, they just are like little children, not sensible or smart enough to be responsible for their actions.
That HAS to be why Je$$e Jack$on and Al $harpton get away with immoratlity day in and day out!
Shakedown Je$$e is a joke. Where do I send in for my official $10.00 Reverend membership card these days since everybody can become one now?
Guy's like Je$$e and $harpton have really hurt and cheapened the reputations and legitimacy of Reverends who I've always known. They are becoming a dime a dozen.
He is NOT a Reverend. He dropped out of divinity school and his son, who sits on the board of that same school, gave him an honorary degree..

Point #1: As far as I know, Jessie Jackson is NOT an ordained minister. I've read where he dropped out long before his Divinity degree. He's a fraud and a race hustler who has never had a congregation . . . actually, if I'm not mistaken, he's never had a job, but he's a multi-millionaire.
Point #2: I've lost ALL respect for Billy Graham since he billed and cooed with Hitlery and told us just what a wonderful president she'd be. She's a moral creep equal to or worse than Jessie Jackson. Billy Graham should be ashamed of himself. Hitlery is garbage.
I was not aware the Billy Graham had made that statement. That's very disappointing. I believe he has gone senile, it's a shame.
I'll add to this my observation that I have been watching Jackson for almost forty years, and he has never met an enemy of the United States that he didn't like.
Jesse Jackson saw an opportunity to jockey for position within the Civil Rights movement when Dr King died.
Jackson claims Dr. King died in his arms. Historically, he wasn't on the balcony when Dr. King died. It was Reverend Abernathy that held the dying leader. But Jackson claims he was Kings' choice to succeed him.
So, in order to establish his credability-- Jackson has himself ordained a reverend two weeks after Dr. King's death. He has never held a church or held himself accountable to anyone.
He did attend Seminary but he dropped out. Decades later when his son was appointed to the board of the seminary--they got dad an honorary doctoral.
Technically-- Jesse Jackson rigged up his credentials so that he can call himself a reverend and a doctor.
