No justice, no peace.
Know justice, know peace.

That pretty well sums it up. Wonder who will read it?

You'll have to enlighten me on the "piffle" thing. I'm Bob and my other brother is Bob.

Couldn't have said it better.

You're correct about the leadership void. People will eventually demand someone on a white horse to straighten things out.

Poor baby. He's mad. He claims he never broke a rule and got away with it. I wonder who's in all those jails, anyway.

How about piffle as "nonsense", an assertion unsupported by facts.

It is true; we little people are told when to pee and where, and if we miss the pot, we are discarded. All the while the big dogs pee where they will.

Your right!! Elves, pixies, ferries, leperchauns and all the other little people have the most say!!

When was the last time you saw the 'Green Giant' on TV? Never. The *ing Kepler Elves are the only ones on commericals now.

We are making a stand though. We got rid of the 'head' 'little person' Sen. Daschle in 04, and we'll take out any other 'little' person that gets in our way!!

Whoa, man- don't say that too loudly, I think that's what got us the Clintons...

So if someone signs up to FR today and posts a rant vanity, they get the Zot. But if someone else has been a member since 1998, the rant stands.

(...and will probably go on for 500 posts.)

I read it; it's a terrific post -- and a terrific read. I appreciated it immensely.

I would add celebrities to the list, as their fame (not as much fortune as fame) helps them get a free ride. Which in turn only aggrevates the rest of us.

And for the issue of "may the punishment fit the crime", I know many people at work fed up with errant sports figures getting $100,000 fines for public acts of lewdity. Those folks make millions each year. It's pennies to them, and any fines incurred don't discourage them in the future.

The original poster is correct; things are so out of hand that it's possible only a despot will fill the vacuum. If that happens, let's hope the despot looks at the appropriate people for appropriate action. Right now, the vacuum is allowing the wrong people to get away with the worst sorts of things. And the citizens' own apathetic acceptance of the raping, robbing, and so on, is disturbing too. Our society has lost itself and we need to put it to rights, or at least keep voicing our opinions and persuading them to see the truth.

And I think America can be put back to its rightful status as a beacon for the world.

You are describing anarcho-tyranny! Many are feeling the same way as you.

So you believe my post is nonsense and unsupported by the facts? Hmmmm...let's watch over time and see whether it is correct or not.

The one simple and major thing we could do to improve the level of basic justice in America would be to get rid of the "War on Drugs(TM)". That would eliminate 70% of all urban crime in America in a single day, and there would suddenly be room in prisons for real criminals again.

Read it. Good example. I was confident Freepers would come up with many, many good examples. Thanks.
