I work for a humongous large Utility. A notice came up on our corporate email system about forming interest groups and affinity groups, to promote Diversity.
So I popped off an email to a pal of mine, who is a closet FReeper, since retired from the utility, and of high godliness in the Nukes. How about forming a FReeRepublic Conservative forum?
Answer: We would probably get fired.

This is to the rude responders to MeneMeneTekelUpharsin:
Typical of a progressive attack method - when you have nothing to say against truth - PERSONALLY attack the messenger.
There is more and more of this progressive attack method seen on FR - very sickening, and worse, frightning because these are those who now call themselves republicans.

Thanks. Abestos suit on for the rest. Had to say something, to vent. Here in this town, some Hispanic put graffiti on the walls of the fairgrounds buildings. They wrote, "México Sí Chavez" (which means Mexico supports Chavez). A member of the fairgrounds board asked my wife (a native of Mexico) what it meant. The only concern the board member had was that the Mexicans might not attend the dance Friday night the board had planned for them and their income might be affected by the lack of attendance. They had not a clue about the significance of that statement.

I'm tired of elected officials and appointees circling the wagon for one another. It seems to be the only thing they're all good at.

I personally know that in almost all workplaces, people are chafing under oppressive management which sets attendance rules, policy, etc. that the employees are expected to follow to a tee or be terminated.
Under our system people are voluntarily trading their labor for cash. They are not forced to show up. The man trading his cash for services has the right to trade his cash for services with people who are reliable.
In places like North Korean labor camps people are not free to leave and oppressive management is truly the rule.
Complaining about oppressive management exploiting the worker, sound pretty socialist to me, and is the opening call for an attack on private property. This way caring bureaucrats can make rules the workers like in the name of socialism. This is the route to the Korean labor camps. It's a case of being careful of what you ask for.

This is true, soon we begin the job of throwing every damn anti-american open borders globalist out of office. It will be fun.

It's a case of being careful of what you ask for. I am NOT asking for that system. I am only pointing out the rank injustice we're going through. It WILL lead to that system even if I DON'T want it to happen. People will cry for justice and some despot will rise up to promise it for them. Can you say "Obradore (Obragore)"? Can you say "Chavez"? Etc., etc.

So if someone signs up to FR today and posts a rant vanity, they get the Zot. But if someone else has been a member since 1998, the rant stands. You just validated my point.

This is a valid perspective. Since it gives pause for thought, it is not your typical, useless vanity.

Well, at least if you post a rant you stick around to defend it.

Every one is a criminal now.
Somewhere, somehow you are breaking a law, code, ordinance, permit, rule, regulation, promulgation...either town, county, state or federal.
Our tax system is such that we are all on work release, or capo's for the system.

Well, at least if you post a rant you stick around to defend it.I've been known to do that. I believe what I wrote is right on. Refute it with facts. I'll consider your point of view (for a few minutes, anyway).
