I agree that the Klan is utterly insignificant. A Klan rally in a non-historic and non-symbolic location should not only be permitted, it should not even cause alarm. It would mean nothing to me.
But at a place like Gettsburg, it is an insult to the honored Union dead and to their cause. I think it's also an insult to the Confederate dead. Congress has passed a law forbidding protests at military funerals. I'm all for that. I think a war cemetery or battlefield site (which is, in a sense, a cemetery even if no one is buried there) should come under that definition. The law should be amended to include such places.
