So why are all of the REAL conservatives endorsing Gallagher?

A couple of examples:

I have endorsed Tom Gallagher for Governor because I believe that Tom best represents the conservative Republican values that are important for Florida's future.
--snip--

Tom has been very clear on the issues and his platform. Tom is Pro-Life, Tom is against amnesty for illegal immigrants, Tom is against civil unions for gay couples, and he has taken a position alongside Governor Bush to develop alternatives to the class size amendment which will cost taxpayers many billions to implement.

Tom has clear plans on many of the issues facing Florida, I encourage you to visit his web site www.TG2006.com and become familiar with his ideas.

Some polls show Tom running behind his opponent, however, in primaries low turnout polls are often wrong. So your vote in this race is critical. Please join me on September 5th and vote for Tom Gallagher for Governor.

[Congressman] Dave Weldon [R-FL 15]

--snip--
.........

"..Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who represents Ronald Reagan's conservative values.."
--snip--
Senator Webster is the second highest ranking Republican in the Florida Senate, serving as the Majority Leader. Through his years in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, including serving as Speaker of the Florida House, he has been a champion for conservative causes.

I was a tad underwhelmed by the options in the gubernatorial race this time. I would rather see a businessman than a lawyer for governor. Either way, Jeb is leaving some big shoes to fill.

Sorry, didn't realize Gallagher had such a strong following in Florida. Here in Miami all I see is Crist stuff. Gallagher isn't even running very many ads in this area. If you like him...great. So long as everybody votes in the general for whichever candidate wins. If it's Gallagher, I'll work for him and vote for him. This is too important to let the Rats get control.

He's not a conservative, by any stretch of the imagination.

And Crist is?

Okay a small confession here. I know Charlie through a family connection for a fair number of years. Just as I knew Jeb thru a much closer connection for a longer time, even. I'm not going to bash a family friend. Would you? Bottom line, IMHO, Charlie is still more electable. More important, I don't see an NRA endorsement of Gallagher and I do for Charlie. I am a single issue voter and that's enough for me.

From our friend David Osborne:

Gallagher is pro-2nd amendment: http://www.angelfire.com/biz4/davidosborne/SECOND_20AMENDMENT.pdf

Gallagher said he would support HB-129 (Lawful ownership, possession & use of firearms and other weapons) while Crist said he was still deciding. (Crist is not very decisive, is he?)

Somehow Charlie convinced the nra to endorse him, but Gallagher is a member of the nra and has a concealed weapons permit.

I can remember when the Right-to-Life Committee in NYS endorsed someone who was pro-"choice," and I personally called the candidate, and he told me that he was pro-choice. Mistakes are often made.

I can't take credit for that flyer... it came from the Gallagher Campaign in response to the NRA endorsement going to Crist... which I think the NRA did a coin toss to decide.. IMHO

She should have had better handlers ...

Apparently she ignored their advice, then fired them .... hired a new bunch, ignored their advice, then fired them .... now she's got a third bunch in there, presumably keeping their mouths shut collecting paychecks.

LABOR DAY MESSAGE FROM TOM GALLAGHER From: Tom, Laura, and Charlie Gallagher Campaign Notes: One Day to Victory

Today marks the last day of the campaign until Election Day. With only hours left until the final day, I could not be more humbled and proud to be the candidate representing our true conservative issues.

In the past four days, Laura and I have traveled 1075 miles. We have been through 16 counties and have attended 23 events. The support across the state has been tremendous. We vowed to run a campaign on the issues, not the polls – and we were successful. It could not be more apparent than on the road in our communities.

Day 1: Laura and I started the day in Plant City and ended in Vero Beach. We visited the Hillsborough Correctional Institution, one of one only two "Faith and Values Based Prisons". This is the first such female institution and the second ever Faith Based Prison in the nation – both initiatives accomplished under Jeb Bush's administration. These institutions are leading the way in showing that faith can be one of the most powerful tools for rehabilitation in our prisons. We also discussed immigration. It is imperative that we secure our borders for public security and to decrease the cost of the thousands entering our state illegally.

Day 2: The morning started with a visit to the Osceola County Council on Aging. We later announced our Seniors Coalition for Tom Gallagher - it is imperative that we protect our seniors and ensure the safety and affordability of their health care. Next we toured the Florida for Marriage Headquarters and the First Baptist Women's Pregnancy. Shortly after touring the First Baptist Women's Pregnancy Center we were honored to receive the public endorsement of Senator Dan Webster – a true conservative leader as both a former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and current Majority Leader of the Florida Senate. Laura and I were joined by hundreds in The Villages and in Ocala.

Day 3: Laura and I spent the morning at the Daytona International Speedway. It was very symbolic to be standing on the racetrack, as on the campaign we are on the final lap, and must stay focused on the road ahead. We then moved to Keystone Heights for the Labor Day Parade. And once again, we were honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Steve Wise. Senator Wise has been a leader in the Republican Party championing criminal justice and education issues. We had a rally with supporters in Tallahassee before heading over to rally with supporters in Panama City and ended the day in Pensacola.

Day 4: Laura and I took the morning to be thankful for our blessings – our family, friends, and supporters. We spent time with our son Charlie at two church services and reflected on the campaign and where it has taken us. After church, we rallied with over 200 supporters. I know that the Panhandle is going to turn out strongly for the campaign, and I am grateful.

Day 5: Today, we are starting our last day off in Ft. Myers before finishing in Miami, and then we will prepare for tomorrow’s big day. Thank you all for everything that you are doing and everything that you will continue to do over the next 24 hours. Our mission is important, and we cannot stop now. This race will be determined by turnout, and I am confident that our ground troops out there will take us to victory.

I would like to thank Representative Dennis Baxley from Ocala for his continued support over the course of this campaign and the Road to Victory Bus Tour. In addition, I would like to thank Representative Trey Traviesa, Representative Andy Gardiner, Representative Frank Attkisson, City of Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, and my good friend Al Cardenas for their support of the Road to Victory Bus Tour.

Today is the last day before the election. I ask that you reach out to those in your community who have not realized how high the stakes are on Tuesday. My opponent will raise our taxes and destroy the traditional values that have been defended by Governor Jeb Bush. We simply can not allow our Party to be taken in the wrong direction.

Let us pledge to one another that we will continue this fight until our victory on Tuesday. It has been a tremendous opportunity to take the time to meet you, friends, families, and supporters across our great state; and it has been a true honor representing our principles of family values and fiscal responsibility. Let's make this day count – for our families, our values, and for our economy. Please call your friends, family, fellow parishioners, and co-workers – every vote counts!

To victory,

Lets be honest, we are still responding to the mainstream media spin, which could just as easily have spun ANY Harris missteps into making her the next Lady Diana. If only she would date a Muslim playboy and come out against land mines.
Has there been stress at the Harris camp? yeah. Can she win? Only if we attack the media, at least as ferociously as they attack her.

If you are a single issue voter, vote for Tom because he will see to it that your right to carry a gun in your car will not be abridged by your boss. If it comes down to Rod Smith vs. Crist, the NRA will back Rod. Ask Marian Hammer. For crying out loud think for yourself, and do not be told what to do by your boss. Even if your boss is the NRA.

I think you're right, when Gallagher belongs to the NRA and has a concealed license permit.

I'm curious, I've seen Gallahger's platfgorm on the Insurance crisis, but I haven't seen Crist's. Has anyone? Any thoughts to contribute on the matter? A single issue that impacts every property owner in the state and Crist doesn't have it on his "issues" list on his site.

Not a single issue voter here, but I want the important stuff addressed.

Shucks, I know tons of democrats that have CCWs and even belong to the NRA, yet they feel I should give up my AR-15 or my Benelli because their only purpose is to kill. NRA membership is no guarantee of loyalty to the 2nd Amendment. Deeds not words. I see no advertisements for Gallagher stating his foresquare committment to the 2nd Amendment or the rights of gun owners. Not like Charlie. Ads have a way of coming back to bite. Maybe Gallagher is trying to have it both ways? That would make him a...politician?

For that matter, I never understood why so many God fearing black folks...committed Christians... could vote Democrat when they know that the Dems support abortion, gay marriage and a host of issues and groups that stand totally against the word of God.

As a teacher, I also remember when Charlie was Secretary of Education. I think he's going to be better on educational issues. Especially when it comes to felons in the classroom!
