People begin setting up "Camp Democracy," a protest by US veterans organizations and military families on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Organisers describe the 15-day event as a "non-partisan camp for peace, democracy, and the restoration of the rule of law."(AFP/Nicholas Kamm)
"Camp Democracy" will welcome pacifists, Democratic lawmakers, union leaders, environmentalists, feminists and those fighting for immigrants' rights.
That is gonna be one smelly place.
"non-partisan camp for peace, democracy, and the restoration of the rule of law."
Commie-speak is fun!
I wonder if any of these bozos are really "ex-soldiers." I know I've seen many of their faces in news photos of "gay" pep rallies.
So, how many thousands are there in this anti-Bush protest camp?
Why are they throwing together such a disassociated bunch in a peace-nik gathering? Why aren't the anti-semites Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on the list of invitees?
Our latest Kerry wannabes?
I'd say those that are currently there and continue VOLUNTEERING to return just may knows more than he does that this war has everything to do with democracy.
Always sad to see fomer Military drink the kool-aid and garner all the attention that should be going to our brave troops still VOLUNTEERING for harm's way.
From an ACLU FOIA application to the FBI for anya nd all information they may have on individuals, he is listed as, "Michael McPhearson is the Executive Director of Veterans for Peace, a national organization which, among other things, engages in public dissent against the Bush Administration's policy concerning the War in Iraq. McPhearson, a Gulf War Veteran, has received national attention for his advocacy against the War since 9/11. In 2003 and 2004 he traveled to Iraq, Italy and Turkey as part of a peace delegation to monitor the occupation and present the organization's message opposing U.S. occupation. He has also been detained at the airport. McPhearson, a coordinating committee member of the Bring them Home Now campaign against U.S. occupation, and a steering committee member of United for Peace and Justice, was a featured speaker at a national march in Washington, D.C. sponsored by United for Peace and Justice and he has also been featured on C-Span and in Associated Press articles condemning the Bush Administration's policies. A long time activist, McPhearson, who is the publisher of Cpeace.com, previously engaged in outspoken activism with the NAACP.
I'd love to see his discharge papers.
I wonder if they lined up the SEAL, sniper, Green Beret Commando, and all around beret-wearing guy, Jesse MacBeth as their featured speaker yet.
What are these pukes doing on my property?
Cindy Sheehan in Center of it all. Guess ol' Cindy had to Leave Crawford to be seen.
This is electioneering. Have they declared their 527 status?
What a group!
Looks like only two of them have a job to go too, another is a woman who has to be about 70 yrs old, and I guess the rest are bums.
