Maybe the prisoners will be lumped in as agents of Iran, as a form of standing army, and we're about to enter a war with Iran. A war with Iran would qualify for Geneva convention provisions.
Codifying the Gitmos as Geneva protected would signal a major expansion of the WOT, if the above is true.
I agree. It MAY be something about OBL...or not. Certainly if SOCOM captured OBL, or found his body, only the US would know about it near-term. Eventually the word would leak from the terrorists...but their means of transmission is limited and would take a few days to reach Al Jazeera etc.
I'm sticking to the opinion that it's a BIG announcement in the WOT. The 911 families sealed that opinion for me.
It is to be about high profile detainees in secret detention camps. Could it also be confirmation that BinLaden is either in one of these camps or is dead?

Apparently, this was a regularly scheduled speech on the WOT. He wanted to announce plans about Gitmo, too and that is why he has the 9/11 survivors there. I think something else must have happened since this event was planned that he would want to annouce it to the nation.
if it was really something huge, wouldnt he deliver it in primetime when people are actully home.

Why would the President want CBS and the others to cut in fot just a run of the mill speech ? and if it is important, why not have the Networks cut in tonight, there are no football games. the networks can re arange things as they have always done.
