I find it strange that he would speak at 1:45 rather than prime time. Were it a national emergency, why not go on immediately. If it's of major import, why not wait until tonight.
The White House asked television networks for live coverage of Bush's announcement later Wednesday.
Maybe that's it, he's come up with a signoff for Katie to use tonight:
"I'm Katie Couric, UP YOURS AMERICA."
A schedule for pullout in Iraq?????
LOL. Time after time, peaceful transitions of power from one party to another, and you talk like it's Boris Yeltsin on the top of a tank ready to take over the Duma.
Those politicians talk a bitter game, but away from the cameras they're still as collegial as ever. They're kinda like stock brokers, buy or sell, the broker makes money. Democrats or GOP in charge, they still get all their perks.
But 09/08/07 is more remarkable for full moonage.
If OBL is dead and has been recovered, the news will keep.
It's during the EIB broadcast. Can't get much more prime time than that!
This is all speculation on my part, but besides the soaps, Rush is on at 1:45pm.
Tony is savvy enough to know that if the speech is important, Rush will play it through is show, along with his unique brand of commentary afterwards.
I love it. Biggest smile in my day so far...
But not 08/09/07 (day first).
I guess we're on the same page.
I guess we're on the same page.
Gosh, I hope it's not anything about Rumsfeld. I heard his surgery went well, and Tony Snow said the other day that Pres. Bush has no intention of replacing him. And the WH Josh Bolten responded strongly to the dems' stupid letter demanding he be replaced. Hmmmmm.
Your guess is as good as any.
Someone mentioned that 9-11 families were requested to be there.
Waiting could mean they're waiting on an announcement from another party/country, or possibly confirmation, although I don't think they'd announce his speech before confirmation of anything "big."
And if it was anything "big"...wouldn't we on FR already know about it? LOL.
Reason for Presser at post 53, Bush unveils plan for Gitmo trials.
Eastern or Central time?
Maybe he can reach the Oprah crowd and get them to realize we are at war with radical islamic lunatics.
Great minds and all that..... :-)
This is a planned speech. It's been announced all morning on FNC. I *think* they said that it's the 2nd of 3 planned speeches on the WOT.
This is possibly going to be one of the least interesting speeches possible.
Karzai and Musharraf met in Afghanistan today. Maybe we given Bin Laden as part of the Warzistan deal.
First thing Clinton went for in 1993 was gays in the military (payback).
Second thing was Hillarycare.
The socialized services agenda cannot be undone once implemented.
Incrementalism gets it done but for some on the left, too little is being accomplished and some thought they had more time to accomplish their goals.
I haven't said anything about this becoming a one party nation. I have said that their socialized agenda will be implemented without delay the next time they have the opportunity.
Good luck with that. I'm not sure anything can reach the Oprah crowd.
That just doesn't seem important enough to me, and why have 9/11 families there (if that's actually what's been requested.)
Unless he announces we are going back to panty head and nude pyramid torture at Gitmo.

The White House is asking networks to break into soaps for the president later today. Stay tuned.
Tony Blair has said he'll step down next summer. Don't know if there is a connection.
That's because their carrier pigeons are striking for minimum wages! (LOL)
I got dibs on the other one!
Soap opera fans don't car about Tony, they only care about Luke and Laura (are they still on, LOL, I haven't watched soaps since I was a teenager.)
Well see what happens.
I do think the 9/11 familes are relevant to the WOT and Gitmo. How he will tie that in will be interesting.
Doesn't seem like a good enough reason to break into daytime TV. I would, however, like to see a speech like he gave yesterday to the Military Officers Association of America -- it deserves prime time. Whereas yesterday's speech highlighted and detailed reasons for our actions in the WOT and Iraq, today's speech will more likely draw attention to the failure of his policy on detainees and give the Rats more ammo to point out failed policies from a failed president.
I can't imagine how the Pres can make this interesting except to the dozen or so ACLU attorneys who are clocking hours on this case.
the bombings begin in 5 minutes....?
If David Gregory is there I hope he points his finger at him.
that one made me lol.
