Posted on 09/06/2006 2:58:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson
The Fresno/Central Valley Chapter cordially invites all FReepers and Lurkers in good standing to attend our 5th Annual Free Republic Rally and Tailgate Picnic (and FR's 10th Anniversary celebration) to be held on September 8th and 9th, 2006.
Our rally will begin at 5:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm Friday night, at the corner of Blackstone and Shaw in Fresno. Afterwards, the group will retire for dinner, refreshments and good fellowship at a nearby restaurant (time and place to be announced).
Special note: About 150 members of the Youth Group of the Riverdale Assembly of God will be attending our rally. Some of them will be arriving between 5:00 and 5:30 and the rest after 6:00 pm. They may also be bringing their sound truck to use as a stage. Those of you who were with us a couple years ago when they did this will remember what a thrill it was to have this group join us. This rally promises to be a huge patriotic success. You won't want to miss it!
Our tailgate pot-luck picnic will be at Woodward Park on Saturday, September 9th. We've reserved the "Gazebo" area for the full day. We'll probably start arriving about 1:00 pm and will dine and party till dark.
The entrance to Woodward Park is on Audubon Drive, just off Freeway 41 (Friant Road Exit) on the northern edge of Fresno. The Gazebo area is near the center of the park (see park map).
Bring your flags, banners, signs, family and children. Prepare to support your country and enjoy the company of your good FReeper friends!

Note from Mama_Bear:
Not only will this years picnic attendees chow down on the best tri-tip EVER, expertly prepared by FReeper jkphoto, they will also enjoy a fun afternoon socializing with a great bunch of Americans, AND they will receive this collector's item, - their very own, one of a kind, limited edition, name badge commemorating the 5th Annual FreeRepublic Tailgate Picnic and Rally AND 10th Anniversary Celebration of this fine website, FreeRepublic.com.
Now, how cool is that? ........
Please RSVP by FReepmail to JustAmy or Mama_Bear today!
Thank you and hope to see you there!

Ping to Fresno's Annual Rally and Tailgate! RSVP to Mama_Bear or JustAmy today if you haven't done so already. You won't want to miss this one!
Dang, my in-laws live just up the road from you. It's a little too early to turn this into a Thanksgiving excuse to fly out there.
I'm sure it will be great.
Never too early (or late) for Thanksgiving. :)
Wish I was there!

We've been waiting to hear from you.
Isn't it about time you joined us at our annual picnic?
It is not too late!!
Get on stand-by and come join us. :)
Wish I was there Amy!. I'm trying to get my brother to fill in for me. He is a Jen u wine survivor of Hitler's Youth Hostel Known as Stalag III and lives in NW Fresno
Have him give me a call. He would be welcome at both the rally and the picnic.
If he is interested, I'll freepmail my phone number. If he can make it, I will also invite a friend. Her husband was a member of Hitler's Youth Army.
He has me convinced he is a Flaming Liberal and he is too old to beat up...
Don't give him my phone number. :)
Looking forward to this weekend. Hope you will join us.
We will see everyone at 5:00PM Friday. Come on FRiends. RSVP with JustAmy or Mama_Bear. Don't miss out on the fun!
I use Hunts whenever I can.
Thanks for the Bumpity Bump.
I'll be driving down by myself on Friday after I take my Brother-In-Law to catch a
plane in Sacramento, then I'll be on my way down to Fresno.
SFC Greg and his Dad will drive down on Saturday for the Picnic. SFC Greg has to work on Friday and his Dad has Jury Duty so they won't be able to make it to the Rally : ((
As SFC Greg always says, "l'll see ya...when I see ya"
I enjoyed meeting several FReepers at the Ronald Regan Library. I still have most of my hair and wear the same size of shoes I did in HS so I must go to my 30 year reunion. Next on is 10 years out so I'll plan on next year. Is it the same week end most years? It makes getting off work easier if I can plan.
It is great that you will be attending your 30 year class reunion. Have fun!!
I will make sure you are on my ping list for next year's rally and picnic.
We schedule our picnic for the second Saturday in September and move our rally from the first Friday to the Friday after Labor Day. I think the date is the 7th and 8th.
It will be great to meet you.
