MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - A man has shot to death a would-be robber, police in Myrtle Beach say.
Officers responding to a call early Monday morning said the victim told them two men robbed him, shooting him in the thigh and toe.
The victim told police he then pulled out his own handgun and shot at the men, striking one of the robbers.
John Graham Jr., 19, of Myrtle Beach, died at the scene, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.
The victim was taken to the hospital, but his injuries did not appear life-threatening, authorities said.
Police continue to investigate the incident.

Thigh and toe? Sounds like they were teaching him to dance or something. Either that or working their way up and it's no wonder he drew at that point.

I certainly hope this does not result in charges for the homeowner. If he had also been shot, this was clearly a case of self-defense.

Good for him that the femoral artery was not hit, only a thigh.

Cool. The writer knew which one was the victim.

Whoa, where does it say homeowner? Also this occurred early Monday morning. Early means after midnight. Before we give credit for being an armed citizen defending himself I want to know more.

I am assuming he was in his own home. Any armed intruder in my house would suffer the same fate, regardless of new paint and carpet. The only thing that would prevent me from shooting him is if he came between me and my daughter's or my bedroom.

I have no problem shooting someone under those circumstances, but I thought the article was very short on details. Maybe it was just poor reporting.

Wow, this reporter even used the word victim correctly.

I guess he did. I still would prefer to be called a "wouldn't-be victim."

I saw nothing about intruder or home either. I read "robbery victim"...
