You have to be somewhat deranged to try to gain publicity from someone's death

"Steve Irwin was unabashedly, thoroughly, in-your-face male. Greer loathes men, and Irwin epitomized what she loathes."
We have a winner.

Steve was a good man and loved by most of us.
TimesDomain could have expressed some compassion for Steve but in my opinion he simply stated the obvious..
Irwin made a fatal mistake by swimming above an animal whose only defense from predators is a spike at the base of its tail. The creatures are non-aggressive, clumsy, and rarely make their mark when they go into their defensive mode. Steve, unfortunately, provoked the ray and it killed him.
I have the unfortunate experience of being on the receiving end of a stingray barb. I was fortunate that it was merely a slice to the bone, rather than a puncture wound.
If you've ever been stabbed by a catfish fin, you know it's painful. Multiply that by three and you can imagine what a stingray barb feels like. It's pure poison. I'm not surprised Steve pulled it out of his chest as quickly as he did because it is so painful.
RIP Steve

Wonder if she's wondering how many will mourn her?

Well, I don't think I'd go quite so far as this Greer person, but at the same rate, I could hardly say Irwin's death was anything less than fully expected.
Of course, it was the MANNER of death which most people found unexpected. However, I'm of the notion that he had cheated the Angel of Death so many times, he was long overdue. If it hadn't been the unlikely encounter with the stingray, it was probably going to be decapitation by paper-cut, or some other strangely juxtaposed manner of death.

"I don't care what I'm being called," Greer said.I can't think of anything bad enough to call her.

NONE will mourn her and the sooner the better!

Whatever one thinks of Steve Irwin and what he did, he was known for something, for some activity. This woman dissing him is known for being known!

This is a cry for help. I have no idea who she is, nor do I care, she is a bitter old sack. I can find one of these at any shop selling celtic art crap.
Her name and age pretty much tells us "Mommy and Daddy were Fascists with poor spelling"

Good God, looks like a uncooked turkey.

LOL - it does somewhat resemble a grizzled old gamy bird doesn't it?

Who the heck is that?
An actress? I don't ever recall seeing her face anywhere.

>I had never even heard of her before she decided to starting trashing Irwin after his death.<
She was a major force in women's liberation back in the 60's. She wrote a bunch of books, the most well known of which is titled, "The Female Eunuch".
Before she surfaced recently to bash the late Crocodile Hunter, her target had been that most horrible symbol of "male oppression", the bra.

"He showed however, that although these creatures can kill, they aren't terrors and we need to have a healthy fear, not a phobia." Good point however I think using his child in the one episode was over the top, one never knows what could happen, he could have tripped and fell and the kid could have gotten killed or maimed.
I got no problems if he uses himself for such demonstrations but a young child in such a needless situation is just nuts.
