I have just corresponded with Jensen, and he claims that many Catholics support abortion and homosexuality. He says they contest the Church's views on the subjects.

I seriously doubt there are more than a handful of these folks. But the point is that the Catholic Church most certainly does NOT support abortion, nor homosexuality. If they are planning to invite a speaker to lecture over 600 Catholics as part of a continuing education program, I simply do not think Jensen is the man for the job.

And seeing how Jensen lives in an academic echo-chamber of
Austin and academia-at-large, and probably watches CNN for news...
he probably sincerely thinks that there are a LOT of Catholics that
are all in favor of homosexuality, abortion, etc.

I've heard Jensen on radio (IIRC, with Dennis Prager).
The guy is just another academic that's too well paid for indoctrinating
impressionable students.

I'd understand why a church would have him in.
For the same reason you see secular/atheist viewpoints on the
"current events" part of The Coral Ridge Hour.
I'm not a Presbyterian, but I do watch because those segments will have
folks from the ACLU and other groups on to explain their stance...
in their own words.
It's good to hear the oppossing viewpoints...and take plenty of time
to consider the weaknesses in the arguments and/or the terrible unintended
consequences of some secular/atheist agenda.

Better to get hit with it that way...then in the first class at university!
