Thanks for the picture. Also love your tagline. A good approach to life.
I'm a grouchy old man, and I loved Steve. He educated, entertained and was really concerned about animals. He touched millions, perhaps billions of people all across the globe with his shows and delightful antics. There probably isn't a single person in any industrialized nation today who hasn't said, "Did you see what that Aussie guy did on TV last night?"...........
I only watched his show a handful of times but he was always entertaining, bubbly and funny. My condolences to you and your countrymen.
God Bless the Aussie's and the richness they bring to this world. One of my life goals is to make it "Down Under", visit old friends in Sydney, and snorkle on the Great Reef. Although I'm sure there are some exceptions, I have yet to meet an Australian I didn't like. Don't let a few bad posts give you the wrong impression...
Here in the U.S. our larrikans are often given large amounts of Ritalin. We like to turn our potential Steve Irwins into miserable office workers who don't raise a fuss.
People who attach themselves emotionally to television stars are the ones who need to get a life.
Ah, but I do understand, and that is what is upsetting you.
Nah, I'm just putting a name to the phenomenon.
May this lift Terri and his loved ones up this terrible loss. Prayers continue for them.
Aussie Dasher,
Have they said when the public service will be? Any news if he will be buried at the zoo?
No updates as yet.
On reflection, I can understand why Steve's family knocked back the State Funeral. The media would have turned it into a 3 ring circus!
I just read a report at the Animal Planet Crocodile Hunter site that a private funeral at an undisclosed location will happen in 7 days and a public memorial in 2 weeks. No specific info other than that. I'm hoping the public memorial will be televised so i can "be" there.
This Jeff Chandler guy sure sounds llike a terminal case of sour grapes, wouldn't you say?
Sounds like he has a sizable gathering of a most unfortunate substance on his liver...
The Diana hysteria was totally ridiculous and overdone. Who was Diana and what had she accomplished ? A one time pretty babe whom the cameras loved, married into a "Royal" family.
Comparing Steve to Diana is comparing the sublime to the ridiculous.
OH! What we would call a 'pistol'.
I just LOVE the way y'all talk, BTW!

Steve will be sorely missed. He obviously enjoyed what he was doing and seemed like a genuinely good guy.
Condolences to his family as well as his countrymen.
Me too.
