PRISHTINA — The Islamic Community of Kosova (ICK) and the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Prishtina (FIS) will co-organize on September 16-17 an international symposium celebrating 600 years of Islam among Albanians.
"The main goal of the symposium is to shed light on how Islam spread in these territories based on undisputed historic facts," professor Qemajl Morina, one of the organizers, told IslamOnline.net.
Debates about this issue and the role of Islam among Albanians have never been addressed independently but were always colored with negative and ideological considerations.
Organizers hope the symposium will show the trube image of islam and its role among Albanians, which have hitherto been misconcepted.
Morina said it will also address the challanges facing Muslims in this part of the world. ...
Albanians are an ethnic group generally associated with Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro.
About half of today's Albanians live in the Republic of Albania, with the second largest group living in Kosovo, which has been a UN protectorate since a 1999 NATO bombing campaign forced President Slobodan Milosevic to withdraw his troops.
Albanians, who make up about 90 percent of Kosovo's population of around two million people, seek full independence.
Islamic Message
"This symposium is being held at the very delicate moment whereby the relationship between East and West is getting tense," said professor Morina.
He added that Albanian Muslims have the duty to "carry the Islamic message decently to our nation and also to other neighboring countries."
"This should be the key message of this symposium which we believe will be carried out successfully."

Nenad Canak is actually Soros funded "successionist" in Vojvodina, and hoplds some 2 (two)% of votes. Actually citisens of Vojvodina want to dissband authonomy and completly integrate into Serbia. (75% population are Serbs and largest minority of 20% are Hungarians, that are mostley pro-Serbian)
True, today's ethnic composition of Kosovo where 90% are Albanians is the direct result of Clinton bombing campaign and subsequent occupation of Kosovo when 300,000 Serbs and Roma were ethnically cleansed in the presence of NATO troops and unknown number of Albanians from Albania settled there.
But, when someone look at the MSM reports written BEFORE 1999 , the same guideline "Albanians, who make up about 90 percent of Kosovo's population of around two million people seek independence" also appear, although it is not true. (If 300,000 Serbs and Roma left Kosovo and 100 000 remained, this is 400 000. This means that before bombing campaign there was no more than 80% of Albanians in Kosovo, many of them illegal settlers from Albania.
This lie can mean only one thing: NATO bombing and subsequent ethnic cleansing of Serbs and Roma were planned from the outset of the crisis. The orchestrated cries of "genocide" and "etnic cleansing" of Albanians through NGOs and media was only smokescreen to cover the real intention of NATO, to ethnically cleanse Serbs from Kosovo and erase all traces of Serbian culture.
The eradication of Serbian culture in Kosovo (more than 150 ancient churches and monasteried destroyed, or 90%), destroyed and erased graveyards, hamlets and villages is genocide according to genocide convention so it is fair to say that NATO aids and abbets genocide of the Serbs.
While I do not doubt that he is once again on his knees at the mosque, I don't think he is praying.

Clinton is responsible for setting up and allowing the cleasning of Serbs from 1999 to 2004....I know because I was there in Gnjilane, and also talked to U.S. low level commanders, (Lt to Major). behind closed doors and listened their disgruntlment that we supported the wrong side from the start. As a matter of fact, we stirred up the trouble starting in Bosnia pre-1992.....fact......

You are right, we weren't really dealing with Osama. I remember the Northern Alliance who were supposed to be the good Islamic warlords, and the Taliban I suppose in the South who were the bad Islamic warlords. All of them were "mujahideen" who at least agreed that the Russians should be run out. And in case anyone doubts how tough these warlords are, remember they DID run the Russians out.
No doubt fleeing from their own government, which was the last place west of Belarus to stay communist and was the first state to take a national social security Ponzi scheme all the way to its logical end of befuddled national bankruptcy. Don't give such another state until they prove they can fix their own state.
