My guys, both husband and son, are not "girlie men"...they pick up snakes, will kill roaches, have been known to chase down a fruit rat out of our fruit tree and kill it with a stick, BUT....if there is a spider, anywhere in their vicinity, they tend to freak out. I have averted many a car wreck by reaching over and killing a spider that happened to crawl on my husband while he was driving. I think it must be a genetic thing because they both make the same sort of ungodly sound when a spider crawls on them or near them.

Was that real? Why not just step on the bug? (except then you may have a mess on the bottom of your shoe)

Wonder what Buffy the weatherman would do if a big ol' swamp rat came meandering across that set of his? That might be some really classic TV worth watching. If I worked there, I'd take a box of roaches to work every day just to see Sparky go bananas!!

Now that I've wiped the tears out of my eyes, here's a TV personality who, when under extreme duress, at least shows he's not gay:

Don't watch this while drinking liquids!

Weird, I am the same way, I HATE spiders! Not sure why, when most bugs don't phase me.

Maybe its because down inside, we know that spiders are not insects, they are animals, arachnids, related to things like crabs. Who knows..

A real weatherMAN would have grabbed the bug and chomped it's head off.

Couple of years ago, my middle kid comes out to the studio, bug in hand. It was sequata season.

"Dad, betchya a buck you won't eat this!"

Munch, munch. He hands over a buck.

Ten minutes later, he is back. With five friends. "Betcha a buck you won't do it again!"

Munch, munch.

My kid turns to his friends, "That will be $2 each."
