This is unthinkable, but we are talking about Clinton and donks:
Do these aholes have prior knowledge of an October Surprise by the terrorists/others and cannot afford a smidgen of suspicion to go their way?
I think this is not about the past and it doesn't jibe with the latest strategist papers from the DLC telling themselves they have lost the middle class. They know that.
I saw Hillary's response yesterday. It was beyond wooden and sort of strange:"...just the facts..." I really expected something very forceful from her, since the miniseries touches on what must be the worst time in her life and the accusations against the administration impact her personal aspirations, big time. Now, all I saw was the one clip, one line. Maybe she did say more? I had the sound off earlier in the day and when I glanced at the screen, she looked very depressed.
I agree this is beyond odd behavior, even for donks w/BDS.
BTW, I am wondering how many people will actually watch this. Liberals we know are dismissing it with:"It is all Republican propaganda" and two (a small set, I know) Republicans have told me they have no plans to watch it. One gave no reason and one has a family event to attend out of town. I think people want new information and are just fatigued with 9/11 anniversary.
We watched the History Channel "Taliban Declassified" and "World War III" last night on History Channel. I found them both to have some soft propaganda against Bush and Newt's presence on the WWIII program was the only attempt at *balance*. The producer of the mini-series said last night (H&C, IIRC)that no one has seen the entire miniseries. Those who saw a preview saw only the first night, which is all pre-9/11. The second night begins in 2000 and will blame the present administration. Sort of a strange screening process, one guranteed to make the series look *unbalanced*. Almost like ABC wanted the donks to lose it.
Did anyone see the article where the CIA had managed to store fertilizer in a warehouse within a mile of the WH? We already know they hate Bush. How far would they go? Do we have some sort of triple-cross coup in the works?
OK, I'll now go get some coffee.

<1>The Senate Democrats are telling the country that anyone can say anything about conservatives. They can lie, mis-represent, twist and spin facts any way they want when it comes to conservatives. But, don't you DARE do the same to liberals or they will ruin you!!
I've seen this argument made before and it is not correct in this instance. Path to 9/11 is NOT anywhere near the same thing as a Michael Moore 'documentary'. The 'inaccuracies' that the dems are yelling about are all easily provable facts. They aren't trying to ruin anyone over mis-representation or twisting and spinning. They are trying to hide the TRUTH. Big difference there.

But, don't you DARE do the same to liberals or they will ruin you!! Yes, you are correct about the above paragraph. I can see I did not put down my thoughts correctly. It should have read:
The Senate Democrats are telling the country that anyone can say anything about conservatives. They can even lie, mis-represent, twist and spin facts any way they want when it comes to conservatives. But, don't you DARE to even tell the truth about liberals or they will ruin you!!

Thanks for the clarification. Clinton and his cronies are notorious for dismissing history. I remember Stephanopolis's denial of "Travel-Gate"?: "(that's not relevant because) it happened MONTHS ago".
I also remember V.P. Gore responding to a question on Ted Koppel about Black Hawk Down: "That didn't happen on OUR watch."
It is right for us to be scrupulous about the truth. And the Dems Senators' threatening letter, before they have even seen the show, and their intrusion into Disney's business decision ("how dare you show a program without selling commercial breaks"), is as great an intrusion to freedom of expression as any they have falsely accused the Administration of. What's remarkable to me is how few hits come up on a Google search for their letter.

no different than the outcry from repulicans over "The Reagans" a few years back.Au Contraire! There are many differences. The pressure was not exerted on CBS by any government figures, but rather, by consumers. The Reagans, was a portrayal of the Regans personal life; to be released while he was checking out, and in the grip of Alzheimer's disease. That show was not about actions which were done as a President, and therefore a matter of public interest.
Nine ll has crystallized the war in which Islamicfascist have invested all of their energies to destroy America. We as a nation need to understand it as thoroughly as possible, even if it means risking some factoids, which may not measure up to a proof of truth. Isnt that what democracy is all about? Freedom of speech so that each individual can come to their own conclusion?
P.S.
I was just banned and my comment deleted when I wrote this same thing at Democratic Underground. Is that the kind of America which you wish to pass on to your children?
CBS CEO-Chairman Leslie Moonves cancelled The Reagans. CBS has canceled its scheduled showing of the miniseries "The Reagans" amid fierce criticism of its portrayal of former President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy. CBS had caved in to complaints from conservatives .
In a statement issued today, the network insisted, however, its decision had nothing to do with the backlash from Reagan supporters.
The miniseries, originally scheduled to air Nov. 16 and 18, was shown on CBS' sister pay-cable network Showtime.
"A free broadcast network, available to all over the public airwaves, has different standards than media the public must pay to view. We do, however, recognize and respect the filmmakers' right to have their voice heard and their film seen. As such, we have reached an agreement to license the exhibition rights for the film to Showtime, a subscriber-based, pay-cable network. We believe this is a solution that benefits everyone involved.
"This was not an easy decision to make. CBS does tackle controversial subjects and provide tough assessments of prominent historical figures and events, as we did with films such as 'Jesus,' '9-11' and 'Hitler.' We will continue to do so in the future."

The Clinton administration supported the KLA, declared a terrorist organization by the United States government. I would not be in the least surprised that backchannel support for other terror groups was not given at this time. Turkey was allowing known terrorists to transit their territory as long as they were heading for Bosnia.

This is the same bunch that gave us "Campaign Finance Reform," i.e., the Incumbents'Bill of Rights/First Amendment Censorship Act. This is the same bunch led by John McQuisling, who admonished radio stations that refused to play the Dixies Sluts to "not violate peoples First Amendment rights (when that Amendment restricts government, not private individuals). The Dems and many RINOs are nothing but Stalinist bullies. One of these days the people are going to tire of this collection of elitist tyrants.

"I don't think it's exagerration to say this could swing the November election, because, let's face it, most voters are not news junkies like we are, and it's been shown that most get their 'news" from Leno and John Stewart--infotainment, not hard news sources. People who want to get up to speed on 9/11 facts but don't want to read books will watch this and feel they know a lot about what led to 9/11."
People who get there news from Leno and Stewart probably are the least likely to vote.

This suppression of free speech shows (again) the totalitarian methods the RATS will use if they regain the House and Senate. And if they win the presidential election in 2008, you can bet your boots they will shut down this forum, one way or another.

" The Democratic party reaction reeks of censorship, it reeks of absolute government control of the media, ala the Soviet Union or Red China. "
Yea and if we dont get off our asses soon and do something about it the show will be either edited or pulled and we will loose a GREAT opportunity to smash the Dems. They already sent 200 thousand letters to Disney and have every one of their leaders shouting about about pulling the show..I havent seen anything from our side pushing for the full uncut version to be aired. Bush didnt even defend the righ tto have it show as is. He said somrthing about not pointing fingers. What the hell are we doing . We have a real shot to stick it to the Dems in a bIG way and we;re wasting it .
To: reformedliberal
The fact that the Clinton gang and DNC has been successful in editing the finished product should say something to every American, but the MSM will justify any changes and things will go back to normal....except....thank God for Rush, et al.
The big story is the Sandy Burglar coverup.
IMO, someone more clever than I needs to keep picking away into the 9-11 com. hearings/report. This has them scared.
It's almost time and I still don't know if I want to watch. Grrrrr!

My ever-resourceful husband fixed our broadcast aerial, so we will watch it out in the workshop. I didn't even know that was possible.
It is a cultural event. I want to see what was left in. From Byron's post, it sounds hard-hitting. And tomorrow, it will hit this administration. To be honest, no one really thought we had to fear these barbarians. Now, we know we do. Israel learned a lesson, too.
If there is even a slight chance an alphanet got it even partially correct, I want to see what is going to be the societal consensus, even if I disagree or have nits to pick.
Our side is not perfect. If we don't admit that, we are just as partisan as the donks. And partisanship can blind. Both GOP and Democrats have taken sides on this. Tonight and tomorrow, the middle-of-the-roaders, who decide elections in America, will get a big dose of information. I want to see what that information is.

"Our side is not perfect...."
Agreed. However, the dark(er) side seems to have control over the opinion-makers, and that wins elections. One can wish there were more of a level playing field.
Your reasons for watching are sound. Enjoy!

The dark side may have control of the DBM, but they haven't won very many elections in the past 7 years. :)
