In the Pentagon/FMSO document http://70.168.46.200/released/03-20-06/ISGZ-2004-009247.pdf there is a clear report about the relation between Iraq and Bin Laden that dated back to 1995. This document contains a 9 page report from the Iraqi Intelligence Apparatus and it is titled “The Saudi Opposition and Achieving the Relation and Contact With Them”. In the report they talk about there meeting with Osama Bin Laden and that Bin Laden in 1995 and how to establish relations with him. In the meeting Bin Laden asked the Iraqis for joint operations with them against the Foreign forces (US military) in the land of Hijaz (Saudia or Saudi Arabia).

I did a partial translation of the report that is related to Osama Bin Laden

Lead by the Saudi Osama Bin Laden who belongs to a wealthy Saudi family with her roots go back to Hadramoot and connected strongly with the ruling family in Saudi Arabia, and he is one of the leaders of the Arab Afghan who volunteered for Jihad in Afghanistan, and after the expulsion of the Soviets he moved to stay in Sudan in the year 1992 after the arrival of the Islamists to power in Sudan.

And because of his stands against the Saudi Royal family because of the foreign presence inside it, the Saudi authorities made a decision to withdraw his Saudi citizenship, and we moved toward The Comission from our side and through the following:

Translation of page 5

A. During the visit of the Sudanese Dr. Abrahim Al Sanoosi to the country and his meeting with Mr. Uday Saddam Hussein on 13/12/1994 and with the presence of the respectful Sir the Director of the Apparatus he indicated that the opposition person Osama Bin Laden who is staying in Sudan and who was cautious and fears that he will be accused by his opponents that he became an agent for Iraq, is ready to meet with him in Sudan (The results of the meeting were written to the Honorable Presidency according to our letter 872 on 17/12/1994).

B. The approval of the Honorable Presidency was granted to meet with the opposition person Osama Bin Laden by the Apparatus according to letter 128 on 11/1/1995 (attachment 6) and the meting with him was completed by Mr. M.A ex-4th Directory in Sudan and with the presence of the Sudanese Dr. Abrahim AL Sanoosi on 19/2/1995 and a discussion occurred about his organization, and he requested the broadcasting of Sheikh Sleiman AL Awada (who has influence in Saudi Arabia and outside since he is a known and influential religious personality) and dedicate a program for them through the station directed inside the country and make joint operations against the forces of infidels in the land of Hijaz ( the Honorable Presidency has been notified with the details of the meeting according to our letter 370 in 4/3/1995 attachment 7).

Translation of page 6

C. The approval of Mr. President the Leader God protect him was granted to dedicate and program for them through the station directed and we leave to develop the relation and cooperation between the two sides what open in front of it in discussion and agreement through other cooperation doors. The Sudanese side was informed about the approval of the Honorable Presidency above through the representative of the respectful Sir the Director of the Apparatus our ambassador in Khartoom.

D. Due to the latest conditions in Sudan and accusing her harboring of supporting and harboring terrorism it was agreed with the opposition person the Saudi Osama Bin Laden to leave Sudan to another place where he left Khartoom in the month of July 1996 and the information indicate that he is Afghanistan at the present moment. There is stil relation with him through the Sudanese side and we work in the present moment to activate this relation with him through a new channel in light of the current place where he stays.

In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. -Hillary Clinton Oct 2002

Good Lord, how many times does it have to be reported that Iraqi intelligence had numerous encounters with Bin Laden during his stay in Khartoum beginning with the Popular Arab and Islamic Conference held in Khartoum in April 1991. Other meetings were held in 1993 (when Iraq's help was urged for the activity in Somalia) and again in 1995.

I think that ABC news reported this document 2 days after it was first published here on FR. But of course it was quickly dismissed as irrelevant by the liberal media. Short of a videotape of Saddam sitting with Bin Laden and talking about attacking the US, nothing else in the eyes of liberals and their media will prove a connection between Saddam and Bin Laden.

US State Department
November 4, 1998
Bin Laden, Atef Indicted in U.S. Federal Court for African Bombings

New York -- Usama bin Laden and Muhammad Atef were indicted November 4 in Manhattan federal court for the August 7 bombings of the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and for conspiring to kill Americans outside the United States.

Bin Laden's "al Qaeda" organization functioned both on its own and through other terrorist organizations, including the Al Jihad group based in Egypt, the Islamic Group also known as el Gamaa Islamia led at one time by Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, and a number of other jihad groups in countries such as Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia.

Bin Laden, the US Attorney charged, engaged in business transactions on behalf of Al Qaeda, including purchasing warehouses for storage of explosives, transporting weapons, and establishing a series of companies in Sudan to provide income to al Qaeda and as a cover for the procurement of explosives, weapons, and chemicals, and for the travel of operatives.

According to the indictment, bin Laden and al Qaeda forged alliances with the National Islamic Front in Sudan and with representatives of the Government of Iran and its associated terrorist group Hezballah with the goal of working together against their common enemies in the West, particularly the United States.

"In addition, al Qaeda reached an understanding with the Government of Iraq that al Qaeda would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al Qaeda would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq," the indictment said.

Beginning in 1992, bin Laden allegedly issued through his "fatwah" committees a series of escalating "fatwahs" against the United States, certain military personnel, and, eventually in February 1998, a "fatwah" stating that Muslims should kill Americans -- including civilians -- anywhere in the world they can be found.

Three Clinton appointees (William Cohen, Richard Clarke, and Thomas Pickering) have all claimed that Iraq help developed chemical weapons for al-Qaeda.

On August 20, 1998, President Bill Clinton ordered a cruise missile attack against a chemical weapons factory in Sudan in retaliation for the August 7, 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. The chemical weapons factory in Sudan was funded, in part, by Osama bin Laden who the U.S. believed responsible for the embassy bombings.

During the 9/11 hearings, William Cohen, the former Secretary of Defense under President Bill Clinton, testified that the manager of this al-Qaeda funded chemical weapons plant met in Baghdad with an Iraqi nerve gas expert.
http://www.reasons-for-war-with-iraq.info/william-cohen_testimony.html

Richard Clarke, a national security advisor to President Clinton, told the Washington Post that the U.S. government was “sure” that Iraqi nerve gas experts had produced a powdered VX-like substance at the El Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Sudan.
http://www.reasons-for-war-with-iraq.info/richard-clarke_1-23-1999.html

Thomas Pickering, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, told a reporter who inquired whether the Iraqi government was involved with this factory, "We see evidence that we think is quite clear on contacts between Sudan and Iraq. In fact, El Shifa officials, early in the company's history, we believe were in touch with Iraqi individuals associated with Iraq's VX program."

Here is my file:

In in 1998, an Arab intelligence officer, who knows Saddam personally, predicted in Newsweek: "Very soon you will be witnessing large-scale terrorist activity run by the Iraqis." The Arab official said these terror operations would be run under "false flags" --spook-speak for front groups--including bin Laden's organization.

Then there were the predictions by an Iraqi with ties to Iraqi intelligence, Naeem Abd Mulhalhal, in Qusay's own newspaper several weeks before the attacks that stated bin Laden would “demolish the Pentagon after he destroys the White House and ”bin Laden would strike America “on the arm that is already hurting.” (referencing a second IRAQI sponsored attack on the World Trade Center). Another reference to New York was “[bin Laden] will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra everytime he hears his songs.” (e.g., “New York, New York”) which identified New York, New York as a target. Mulhalhal also stated, “The wings of a dove and the bullet are all but one and the same in the heart of a believer." which references an airplane attack.

The Arabic language daily newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabic also cited the cooperation between Iraq, bin Laden and Al December 1998 editorial, which predicted that “President Saddam Hussein, whose country was subjected to a four day air strike, will look for support in taking revenge on the United States and Britain by cooperating with Saudi oppositionist Osama Bin-Laden, whom the United States considers to be the most wanted person in the world.” This info is in the link provided below. How could these people have had foreknowledge without Iraq being involved?

Source for this info

Warning...slow loading .pdf file. This was from a lawsuit filed against Iraq after 9/11...the court ruled against Iraq.

There was also another lawsuit filed by the family of John O’Neill (a former FBI agent who captured Ramzi Yousef after the 1993 WTC bombings) after he died in the WTC on 9/11. His personal files from his years of traveling around the world investigating al-Qaeda are were used as evidence in the lawsuit. The evidence includes documents unearthed in the headquarters of the Mukhabarat (Iraq's intelligence service) and information gleaned from the interrogation of both al-Qaeda and Iraqi prisoners. (Link below). It also quotes Vincent Cannistraro, the former CIA counter-terrorism chief, who stated in October 2000 that Iraq had been wanting to carry out terrorist attacks, and that the Iraqi military had been in contact with Osama bin Laden.

We know from these IIS documents that beginning in 1992 the former Iraqi regime regarded bin Laden as an Iraqi Intelligence asset. We know from IIS documents that the former Iraqi regime provided safe haven and financial support to an Iraqi who has admitted to mixing the chemicals for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. We know from IIS documents that Saddam Hussein agreed to Osama bin Laden's request to broadcast anti-Saudi propaganda on Iraqi state-run television. We know from IIS documents that a "trusted confidante" of bin Laden stayed for more than two weeks at a posh Baghdad hotel as the guest of the Iraqi Intelligence Service.

oH, SO OUR DEMOFLOPS asked Bil Laden if he'd visited sadam at any time, and if he knew him, bil laden said NO. Oh, now I see the light. sadam was just an inocent by-stander who happened to be the ruler of iraq, and has been caught in the middle of this and "ne don't know nuthin".

What? You don't believe Saddam and Binnie? C'mon, they're just misunderstood.

So, today the Senate says that they have proof that there was NO links between Saddam and AL Qaeda?

Am I the only one that saw that these reports dealt with PRE-WAR American intelligence reports?
This was all over the news, and I say to myself...yeah...so..do they have a point.

Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsi-bility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests,including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, areknown to be in Iraq;

Ah, but you see, Saddam did not personally meet and shake hands and share bread with each and every one. Nor did he personally participate in multi-day briefings on their future foreign terrorist attacks.

Therefore there is no connection between Saddam and AQ.

Now you better understand that or you will get an F on the NEA test coming soon to a school near you. :-(

Thank you for this valuable translation.

"in the light of the Senate intelligence report that said no connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda.."

This repeated misquoted statement of the Report by MSM of "no connection" misled the public. As your and many other documents show, there were many contacts between Iraq and Al Qaeda. The Report concluded much more narrowly that the CIA had found no established "operational cooperation" between AQ and Iraq. That narrow statement is a far cry form "no connection." The Senate Report acknowledges numerous connections. But for their own anti-war, anti-Pres Bush interests the MSM distorted the findings.

Thank you again.

Have you been inclined to mail these to the 9/11 Commission with the email contacts that I sent you? I think it's time.

This one alone should flip Jamie Gorelick out of her chair and Thomas Kean would probably love to see this translation.

P.S. Ya gotta love that name GORE-lick! LOL!

With all the conspiracy kooks out there, and so many different conspriacy theories about 9/11......... I just wonder what you may think of this:

This one is quite interesting. Much detail.

http://www.valis.cjb.cc/HawksCAFE/070106.html

By the way............ this guy does NOT put 9/11 on this administration at all like all the other "kooks".

Rather he puts together (quite well) a scenario that a group of very devious men (including Maurice Strong, who for years has said that the USA is the most dangerous entity in the world and needs to be destroyed) over a period of decades has worked on ruining America.

Very interest.

Just scanning the first few paragraphs, it looks like a parody.
