Democrats say war on terror should be refocused from Iraq to al-Qaida

Democrats are responding to President Bush's latest remarks on the war on terror, saying it'll take a new policy in Iraq to make America safe.

Congressman Sherrod Brown of Ohio says the U-S-led invasion of Iraq has made the country "a training ground for terrorists and a recruiting tool for the leaders of al-Qaida."

He says the war on terror should be redirected to end what he calls the "open-ended commitment in Iraq" and refocus military efforts on destroying al-Qaida.

Brown, who is running for a seat in the Senate, delivered the Democrats' weekly radio address.

The latest trial balloon from the Dems. Their idea of leadership is to throw enough mud in hopes that some sticks to Bush.

They had at least five years (1996-2001) to focus on Al qaida and instead did nothing.

Oh this is rich: turn our efforts AWAY from Iraq and focus on AQ....but AQ is building terror training camps in Iraq because of our efforts???!!!! These democrats make absolutely NO sense.

Same war. Different front.

Jeez louise, glad we didn't have to fight the Germans, Italians, and Japanese with strategic thinkers like these advising us.

Uh, the first linking of Al qaida to a terrorist attack against the U.S. was in the 1993 WTC Bombing.

Since AQ has called Iraq WWIII, the dems might first want to buy a clue before opening their mouths.

They still can't pick up on the common thread that links everything together... Fundamentalist Islam. Their PC infected brains can't deal with with religion... even one that espouses hate. As far as they're concerned... the only hateful religion... is Christianity.

Exactly. Unless they are all dumbs as rocks they understand that too and are still willing to play politics with our safety...either way I don't want them in charge.

They always seem to leave that little tidbit of truth out of the equation don't they?

Ah. Who the hell do the 'RATS think we are fighting in Iraq?

Congressman Sherrod Brown of Ohio says the U-S-led invasion of Iraq has made the country "a training ground for terrorists and a recruiting tool for the leaders of al-Qaida."

If we pull out of Iraq, al Qaeda will pull out too? Is that it?

Where will they go? Oregon? Nevada? Follow us to Okinawa?

DemocRATS do not have ONE military mind among them.

I can only imagine. First the NY Times would leak details of the upcoming Normandy invasion in early May. Then Howard Dean would ask why we are planning on invading France when Germany is the real enemy. Pelosi would chime in that the choice of Normandy shows the Roosevelt Administration cannot even read a map, since Calais is much closer. and Harry Reid would leak the casualty numbers from Operation Tiger as proof that FDR was unfit to lead the country and that new leadership and new policies were needed.

This will be so easy for the Bush administration to rebut. Al Qaeda is not a state or a uniformed army. It is a movement that has poisoned Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and the rest of those nefarious abettors.

If we pull out of Iraq then Iranian surrogates will take over that country and its vast oil fields. Then AQ will focus on the remaining US forces in Afghanistan.

You don't have to be a genius to figure this stuff out. The Rats can't be that stupid. Or can they?

"They had at least five years (1996-2001) to focus on Al qaida and instead did nothing."

They had since the first WTC bombing on February 26th, 1993. They controlled Congress for another 22 months (March '93 through Dec '94)and did nothing.

Al Qaida is training in Irag. We must pull out of Iraq so we can fight Al Qaida.

This course in liberal "logic" is brought to you by the party that thinks Okinawa is just over the horizon from Iraq.

The Democrat plan is so short sighted! I cannot get over the abysmal lack of determination and seriousness they are displaying in the face of this threat. They have nothing to offer but retreat to the trenches.

Yeah, great peace deal ya got us, bonehead (Clinton). Making "peace" with murdering scumbag Islamo-facists means we die and they take over the world. Biggest mistake this nation has made in the past 100 years was electing Clinton.

Their hope and that of the MSM is to engineer defeat in Iraq, blame the Republicans, and sweep to power in the aftermath.

Does anyone have any doubt whatsoever that buggering out of Iraq will be shortly followed by buggering out of Afghanistan?

These people are traitors, and if the Bush administration had any real respect for the troops overseas and the sacrifices of their families here at home, they would treat them as such.

No democracy can long fight a war with a plurality of the population and a major political party cheering for defeat, and real Presidential leadership would involve kicking these people in the nuts rhetorically at every opportunity, and arresting members of the media who work as funnels of terrorist propaganda on one side and funnels of cash to terrorists for 'news' and 'fauxtography' on the other.

How many 'stringers' for networks and news agencies in Iraq and Lebanon in fact work for the terrorists? How much money have the news media paid these people? How many threats have they received from local scum to report only anti-Isreali and anti-American news? Inqiring minds want to know.

And I don't want to here any baloney about 'fighting or someone's rights'. Do our troops fight for the 'right' of someone stabbing them in the back? For the 'right' of criminals to block shipment of munitions to troops fighting overseas? The 'right' to hire terrorists and operate as a conduit for terrorist propaganda?

Anyone who belives such nonsense has drunk to deeply from the well of the Kool Aid Konstitution given to us by the Warren court and upheld by subsequent generations of legal frauds.

We have made a political decision as a society to go to war, and any government that fails to uphold the minimum standards of civic responsibility in wartime does not in fact have much respect for the law or for those from whom it asks the last full measure of devotion.

al-Qaida is just part of islamo facism. Islamo facism is the enemy. Bush knows this and it is easy to explain to most people. That is why the use of the term islamo facism drives dems mad. It exposes them as for what they are, politcal posturers that play word games and endanger our country and troops to gain political power.

Oh yeah, that will work. Freaking idiots! Tell me you brainless party of traitors, what are the geographic boundaries of Al Quaida? What a revelation, that they are all in one place where we can hit them.

The rat party is potentially more dangerous than the enemy themselves because the rat party will say and do anything to regain its political power. They will do anything with utter disregard for the safety of the country and the real enemy and real world situation.

The dems should have been outlawed in this country in 1865 when we ended their last great assault on the constitution and the union. The rat party is indeed part of the enemy that must be defeated.
