CNN Poll: More Americans blame Bush for 9/11
Clinton News Network ^ | 9/11/06

The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found.

Asked whether they blame the Bush administration for the attacks, 45 percent said either a "great deal" or a "moderate amount," up from 32 percent in a June 2002 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.

But the Clinton administration did not get off lightly either. The latest poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, found that 41 percent of respondents blamed his administration a "great deal" or a "moderate amount" for the attacks.

That's only slightly less than the 45 percent who blamed his administration in a poll carried out less than a week after the attacks.

Still, most Americans appear to be fatalistic, with more than half -- 57 percent -- saying they think that terrorists will "always find a way to launch attacks no matter what the U.S. government does."

The poll was carried out August 30 through September 2 by Opinion Research Corp. with 1,004 American adults questioned by telephone. The sampling error for the questions was 3%

YOu got it!

How many THINKING/WORKING Americans
actually take the time to be polled
via phone? I know I don't. I just
say, "Sorry, not interested" and hang up.

I don't believe I'm unique in that.
And I'M retired!

Rockefeller says we'd be better off with Saddam Husein in power. Schumer said yesterday that VP Cheney "represents everything wrong about America." The Democrats and the media give aid and comfort to our enemies on an hourly basis. Ignorant Americans follow like kids after the Pied Piper.

We're going insane and we deserve what we're going to get. I hate to sound so down today, but I'm simply more and more astonished each day.

Don't people have any common sense? We're talking about a President in office 8 months versus 8 YEARS. I am really getting sick of this crap. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to watch, listen or read anything anymore.

"This is like the survivor of the rape being responsible for the rape instead of the rapist."

No surprise there. Look at how Juanita Broderick fared after her belated outing of Clinton as her rapist. And I can remember members of the O.J. jury commenting on what Nicole Simpson had done to cause her husband to beat and kill her. Unfortunately there's a certain mindset in this world that will always try to blame the victim instead of the attacker.

why do you get so upset by media polls that Americans barely watch. It seems every election cycle i see media polls favoring democrats but they have lost 7 out of the last 10 presidential races and will lose more because of the path they choose. Since 1994 I keep hearing polls how the dems will take back the house and senate and polls show Americans crave democrats but the repubs still are in power. Dinosaur media, although still powerful, does not have a monopoly. Americans, by and large, are conservative. People tend to favor the GOP over dems on national security. The democrat party is disconnected with the values of the electorate. The GOP, even if its been a disappointment, is not throwing itself over a cliff like the democrats. So what if a CNN poll that over samples tin foil hat people says what it says. Who watches it but Jihadists. And lets say the poll is accurate. Does that mean the American people trust the dems with national security..NO!!

Heaven forbid we take ONE day off from the polls and political angle of this atrocity.

Incidently I just went downstairs for the last moment of silence (I work across the street). There about 200 MoveOn protesters marching up and down church street wearing black "9/11 Was A Conspiracy" tshirts, and carrying the usual anti-Bush banners. None of these assholes are cops or firemen, or worked in the finacial industry, but they can't let go of their Bush hatred for even one day.

The worst of it is that they only do it for the sensationalism. They don't actually give a clam for the fallen or the heros. Sick and shallow.

If it wasn't for terrorism, it'd be back to the economy for these guys (the only two issues America really cares about), and that won has them REALLY confused.

"Mean people suck" is about as deep as it gets for them.

Even though this is a ChickenNoodleNetwork puke poll, I feel our own folk have betrayed America. I am looking at the scenes at ground zero and the reading of the names and keep thinking, how many of those relatives there blame W for 9-11 and STILL worship satan bubba. MY GOD, WE WERE ATTACKED by every evil people and all I hear is how this was W fault. Pretty discouraging! Instead of unity after this horrendous event the EVIL liberals literately divided our nation. I despise them with a passion! ON TO VICTORY ON November and NEVER EVER FORGET....NEVER!

Did you see the post about a couple illegal survivors? That they're afraid to touch their $2M because they're illegal? And the question as to whether they should have received a benefit in the first place.

Even the finance employees, who may have had good incomes, still need the proceeds for things like college for their kids. Some had 4 and 5 children.

It must have been an on-line poll, either that or idiocy is contagious.

I don't believe that 45% of the US population have actually lost their minds.

At least 45% of the people in this country are complete and total idiots. I would go higher than that, actually.

If you don't believe me, just go to any high traffic driver's license office (or anywhere else where everyone has to go eventually...) and do your own mental calculations. The results will alarm you.

Facts are only facts if you are Republican. If you are a Dem, everthing is relative, even facts.

This poll isn't at all surprising.

The same thing happened after the Clarence Thomas confirmation. Right afterward, a very small percentage believed Anita Hill's accusations while most believed Clarence Thomas. After over a year of incessant MSM drumbeat anointing Hill and buggering Thomas, the percentages were reversed and Thomas was the liar.

Propaganda has an telling effect when even a baldfaced lie is told over and over again as truth. Goebbels was right. For many people, it eventually sinks in as truth as they internalize it.

Trust me, I know that. However, most of the ones I know are doing quite well (except today of course). They all had life insurance policies, and their companies took care of the with additional funds. Even that sleaze Howard Lutnik came through for Cantor after the media started putting the screws to him.

I am guessing they polled 55%- 60% Democrats, 10% undecideds, and the rest republicans.

Actually, the president I blame most for this is Carter.

He was the one that nurtured this and abetted Iran's Islamofacist ascendancy. He showed weakness at a crucial time and set the stage for this entire era.
