I read the senate intelligence committee report. Here are some excerpts:
"The [FBI] summery said that when told there was clear evidence that the Iraqi government has previously met with Bin Ladin, Saddam responded "yes." Saddam than specified that Iraq did not cooperate with Bin Laden." (Page 67 Second paragraphs).

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”
The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

Glad you liked it, mkjessup. I read the newest release from the Senate Intelligence Committee and was stunned at how few people were interviewed. Also, the Committee seemed all too willing to accept the word of Saddam and a few detainees.

CBS is doing a "special report" at 3:30 covering the President's service at the Pentagon. Since he's a little late, Katie is asking David Martin questions attacking Bush, first about this "connection" between Saddam and AQ, and then about the Iraq war.

On Friday, I was in Manhattan and a business associate came up to me with a smirk, stating that" It's now official! Saddam had no AQ links!" My response was "Well then, you must be a Democrat"! Then I proceded to tell him what I have learned.
I was so ticked off and wanted "back up" that I spent this past Saturday morning searching for Byron York, Stephen Hayes & Deroy Murdock articles.

I would say that immediate right after 9/11 Saddam was feeling more and more desperate and really didn't care about linking up with al-Qaeda to some degree. I do believe that whatever their relationship or collusion, Saddam like a good dictator wasn't going to compromise his authority and let al-Q call any shots in Iraq. Saddam didn't share A.Q's relgious vision, only their hatred for Israel & America.
I was pleased that Cheney re-asserted the relationship between Iraq/AQ on Tim Russert's show this week. Good for him!
Thank you for that impressive list, but I am NOT going to read them all! LOL! I stumbled onto MSNBC and the idiot there was saying to a guest, "But Saddam had no connection to 9-11"
and I wanted to put a brick through the 61 inch screen. Instead, I removed MSNBC from access on the tuner.
