Should Viacom shareholders be demanding their money back, or is See-BS going for strictly high end younger targeted demographics?

I tried watching before and after Rush's segment. Liberal content aside,I would not watch simply becuase of her voice and delivery. I hate Catie's voice. There is an edge to it and it is also uninteresting to listen to. Her delivery grates.

I would be very interested to see what would happen if a MSM decided to do a 180 and everything that was liberal is now conservative.
I bet there would be very wealthy stockholders.

Actually, I would love to be a wall in the room where the executives are meeting to discuss what to do... I wonder how many hundreds of million dollars it will take to buy her out of her contract. I suppose the other option is to have her do the news naked or something.

I guess that "before" picture was right--Katie is weighing down the ratings.
Her sign off should be "Watch tomorrow, and I'll send you a ten dollar bill."

Katie was NEVER going to fail at NBC's Today Show....when she jumped ship, she lost her safety net!! Katie Go Kaboom!!

Since its never been run as a for profit division You have swerved into a very important point here. Network News Divisions have never made money for the parent companies. They've only existed at the beneficience of the entertainment divisions and because they had political clout.
As people become less and less dependent on Network News, their political clout lessens. There will come a time when the profit pinch is such that the networks just won't have to money pay for that luxury any more.
By the end of the decade, Network News, as we know it today, will cease to exist...

What did they expect? All that hype about how she was going to be different and that farce of the "you damn uglo-American, little people" tour you would have think the news would have been a tad different. But nooooo. The first day we get how tough the taliban is and great pictures of Suri Cruise. The second day we get a show case of "Iraq sucks and Bush sucks" push poll. She sucks and I hope CBS has their receipt because I would exchange her for the King of Queens reruns
To: Sun

Can they do the digital "nip/tuck" thing in real-time? If she does the news naked, we had better hope so!
To: abb
In another year, she'll be on the wrong side of 50. How's that for a prospect CBS? If I was Rupert Murdoch, I would tart up some 20 something blonde bimbo, put her in a bikini and have her read the news. Can you say ratings bonanza?
To: gopwinsin04
Her 15 minutes of fame was up long ago. Besides who watches TV network news anymore?

The curiosity factor having ended, there's no surprise she took a nose dive in the ratings. I'm sure they hoped it wouldn't go straight to the bottom in one week.

All of us here called it a long time ago. Imagine if they used the Fox News model, where they would present items in a fair way and without the obvious hatred for all things that are to the right of Fidel Castro. They would overrun both NBC and ABC in a month or two.

"Actually, I would love to be a wall in the room where the executives are meeting to discuss what to do..."
That's an easy one, they'll determine the reason for the slide is she's being too nice and not asking the tough questions of Bush. They will say, hey we have to stop being cowed by this administration and stop acting like we're the propoganda arm of the West Wing. We need to take off the kid gloves and lay bare all of the lies, obsfucation and tell the American people the truth...this President is a threat to our security.
Then they can sit back and watch their ratings climb. (sarcasm off)
