I didn't know if there was a west coast version of this thread. It didn't make sense to post on thread for the show that was almost over on the East Coast.

Well, they caught Moussaoui, but apparently he sat tight and didn't confess. Now Massood is on... he looks like Omar Sharif. Such a waste that he died...

I thought so too. I don't care what party you belong to, it helped put a lot of the sequence together. I didn't pay to much attention to the exact dialog because that was supposed to be one of the places they took artistic license. But the larger flow of events was very evident.

He was one of our "truest allies", betrayed by our bureaucrats, and most of us didn't even know who he was. I am so glad they gave him the credit he was due.
I'm certain a lot of the information about him came from the CIA operative(s) who worked with him.

I DVR-d parts 1 and 2 (actually 3 parts with the President's speech in the middle of 2 and 3).
I was able to fire it off yesterday manually (and get it at the 4HR/disc speed) but today I had to program it from the TV-Guide calendar and wound up with it in the 2HR speed. SO I ran out of drive space before I got the whole thing (about 76 minutes of today's broadcast and 20 minutes of President Bush).
ANYONE know when this will be released for sale? I'll watch what I have and get the rest from Netflix.

It's amazing how low-tech their intelligence was/is. They pass messages hand-to-hand and talk in person, to avoid eavesdropping. They were running loose in Afghanistan as their base, but still, they had to get out into Europe and the US.

Well so much for all the Bush bashing I was expecting. Now the liberals will REALLY scream it was biased. It seemed pretty clear to me that those in power were well and truly hamstrung in the first months of the Administration because of the Clinton orders and rules set in place the previous eight years. That seemed abundantly clear. There was plenty of recognition that something big was coming, but there wasn't anything concrete and clear enough to really act on it to point to 9-11 specifically. Unlike Clinton, Bush never took a pass on hitting at Bin Laden when he showed his head. Period.
I was put off though by the "grading" at the very end, showing the precious grades given to government by the 9-11 commissions, showing the D's and F's. What is this, kindergarten??? All the commissions precious bad grades, and still we're not attacked. They say not enough is done in airport screening, and no one can get so much as a toothpick on a plane if they're not supposed to. And most of those F's are pie in the sky stuff that they recommended without saying how to do it or pay for it. It's dirt easy making recommendations when you don't have to pay for it or hammer out a shread of the logistical issues in implimenting it. That was the weakest part of the movie. The value of grading assumes that those giving the grade are qualified at assessing abilities and recommending improved courses of action for better results. I fail to see how anyone on the 9-11 Commission, ANY OF THEM, are so qualified that they know better then the people in the Bush administration making decisions how to protect the country. If they're so good and so smart, why then were they not chosen for positions in government to make the big decisions huh? The commission has read too much of their own press when it comes to their importance and intellect in protecting the country. They make suggestions, but it's the Bush adminsitration and intelligence and law enforcement agencies that have actually done the JOB of keeping America safe and preventing ALL attacks the past five years. THAT'S a fact.

Massoud knew there was a threat to aviation but not specific. They are talking about how everything had been cut. I wonder if people will know it was Clinton who cut it. The guy is sitting in front of an ancient computer. Now here's Condi saying that President Bush is determined to fight Al Quaida... we never heard the Clinton bunch saying that.

I really, REALLY hate how that happened with Massood, I remmeber that when it happened, but I sure didn't realize he was like that. He really was a good friend to America. Lord only knows what it would have been like in Afghanistan with him leading Afghani forces by our side with American and British forces as we engaged the Taliban, him leading the effort on the ground while we attacked from the air, landing special forces. Things would have been so different in Afghanistan, better then they are now, and it's not a disaster now. What a great ally. :(

I haven't heard when, or if, but when it becomes available we need for someone to start a thread reminding everyone that it is available.
I don't want it necessarily for myself, but for posterity. It's important that they know and remember too. After all, freedom won't be free for them either.

Yes that is so tragid. John O'Neill was a truly great man and the system shafted him. It's so tragic knowing that he knew what was going on, standing in that stairwell, KNOWING what was going down, knowing what it would mean for the country. I only hope and pray that it was FAST for him and he didn't wonder if it was happening nationwide, in multiple major cities, wondering if it was the end of America. If for no other reason, we have to win the war and beat the Islamo-Fascist terrorists just to make sure that America survives and destroys fascist terrorism, in the name of those who died on 9-11, and all the soldiers, Marines, sailors, and pilots who have died in the war. They're the best reason of all to win the war IMO.

I don't think we did. If it had not been for 9/11 I am sure we would have done nothing.
It sickened me to hear that money we sent over there to help the Northern Allience was going to OBL instead.
I am trying to figure out who the guys on our sides name was that befriended him. I kept missing it. I wonder if he still works for us, and if he has written any books.
