Another Kerry Email: "We Are the Troops" (Barf)
John Kerry Email ^ | 9/12/06 | John Kerry

Posted on 09/12/2006 12:48:07 PM PDT by ChuckShick

Dear Friend,

I remember when I was back home from Vietnam and veterans were speaking out against the Vietnam war policy, someone yelled at the vets: "You should support the troops." One of those veterans said simply: "Lady, we are the troops."

With a war in Iraq gone horribly wrong and a Republican attack machine determined to smear those who speak out, there's nothing more important this fall than electing veterans to Congress who can speak out about Iraq with a special moral authority.

And man, do we need them. Recently, John "Randy" Kuhl, a Republican incumbent House member from New York, returned from a visit to Iraq. He reported that things were going well. In fact, he says he almost forgot he was in a war zone.

I can't tell you whether that hard-to-believe comment reflects his disconnect with reality or his refusal to level with the people he represents. But, I can tell you this: No one who knows what it really means to be in a war zone would talk like that.

If you act now to support Eric Massa, the 24-year Navy veteran running against Kuhl, there will be one less Congressman in Washington next year who blindly supports the failed Republican policy in Iraq.

Eric served in Desert Storm, Bosnia and Beirut. And he's telling people the truth about Iraq -- that there is no purely military solution to the problems there. He, three other proud veterans I'll tell you about in a moment, and VoteVets.org, a political action committee founded to support candidates like them, need your help right now.

Coming from someone who collaborated with the enemy while his brothers were still in harms way, that means a lot.

Moron.

I notice kerry isn't runnin for an airplane to go over there and see for himself..perhaps afraid of what he'll find??

..yeah he'll find people asking him why he says the things he says...and he'll stutter and say something else very stupid like, "I meant to say before I said what I said" and he'll be escorted back to the plane and told "your an ass"..don't ever ever come back"

If you subtract four weeks of training and orientation at Cam Ran Bay it's actually 90 days.

plus the time he spent "off shore" board ship, orientation for him was "who's the medic with the most band aids" and what officer has the most blank "I'm a hero forms", and of course the reg's in regards to "get me the hell outta here forms"

Unfortunately "Spit on the Troops" was more common then
"Support The Troops" during the rotten hippie-freelove and drugs era of the 1960's.

I pray to God our fighting men and women now never go through that at all or at least not to the degree that the returning Vietnam Vets had to.

Man, who comes up with this stuff for these guys? "War gone wrong...quagmire...Republican attack machine...smear the brave dissenters...question my patriotism..." I've heard parrots sound more convincing. Time for somebody without a political tin ear to yell "Re-write!" but there isn't anyone left like that in the Democratic party.
