MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee convenience store owner shot and killed a man who broke into his store early Monday morning.
The shooting happened at the S&D food mart at 31st and Glendale. Four suspects broke into the store, setting off the alarm. The store owner lives upstairs and heard the noise. He armed himself before heading downstairs and confronting the robbers.
According to police, when he saw the intruders, he started shooting. One man was killed and another was wounded. Neither burglar had a gun.
The district attorney's office is reviewing the case to determine whether the store owner should be charged.

I agree he deserves a medal, but not for marksmanship.

They should find the one he wounded and give him another shot to redeem himself.

I remember a case in Detroit in the 70's where a Police Officer was shot by a gang member. The officer had his wife riding with him in the patrol car when he stopped to question a gang member out after curfew. The gang member pulled a .22 caliber pistol and shot the officer (the days before bulletproof vests). The officer staggered back to the patrol car while the gang member continued to pump bullets into his body. The officer pulled his 9mm and handed it to his wife and told her "they shot me". She shot 7 times. Killed six and wounded one.

"The storeowner should NOT be charged." We have a new 'right to defend' law in Alabama. He would not be charged and the perp/family cannot file a civil suit here. Another dead bad guy and the case is closed.

Sounds to me like this man needs to spend more time at the shooting range!

I remember that story. It's one thing to"brandish"a firearm. It's quite another if you have to fire it.Apparently this Police Officer loved his wife so much that he took her to the shooting range, and taught her to shoot!!
