ISLAMABAD, Pakistan Sep 15, 2006 (AP) Pakistan's parliament unanimously condemned Pope Benedict XVI on Friday for making what it called "derogatory" comments about Islam and demanded he apologize.
The Vatican has said Pope Benedict did not mean to offend Muslims with remarks he made in Germany this week about Muhammad and holy war.
In a speech, Benedict quoted a 14th-century Byzantine emperor as saying, "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

Muslims and Pakistani in particular -- really are offended by the truth, their insignificance and the fact much of the world regard them as lunatics destined for extinction..
Semper Fi
Islamabad is probably where bin laden and his executioners are being hidden. A toilet, with a toilet mentality.
Imagine how pissed they'd be if the Pope had sent his message in comic strip form.
Wellllll...now that we have all of this condeming stuff out of the way....can we kick some Taliban and al Qeada loving Pakistani behind?
...or if the US Congress "unanimously condemned" Mohammed?

P.R.O.P.* Ping!
Pope Benedict XVI speaks, and the mozzies tremble with helplessly impotent rage!
Go on, Mozzie scum - say or do anything to p*ss off the spiritual leader of several hundred million Catholics, and irritate those same hundreds of millions as well - I just dare you.

"The Final Crusade has commenced - Pope or imam - guess whose side G_d is on?"
I was soo glad when I first heard about this I almost choked up. It is soo about time. Long live the Pope. JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL!
Yet another reason I like Pope Benedict.
"JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL!"
Amen and AMEN!!
I'm not a catholic christian, but I support the Pope as he speaks the truth.
If the left-leaning touchy-feely types want to help, they should go to Turkey and hold encounter groups with those offended Muslims to help them get in touch with their inner feelings.
Would have made a great "tagline."
Looks like they're just as upset with Benedict XVI as the Soviet Union was with John Paul II.
"Imagine how pissed they'd be if the Pope had sent his message in comic strip form."
Ok, that got me laughing!

Oxymoron.
1.1 billion and counting. Catholics
If a man can be judged by the enemies he makes then Pope Benedict XVI is a hero, full of truth, and a great world leader.
Thats exactely what Mohamaad did... He rode into town murdered literally ALL that would not convert and when he rode out of town there were ONLY muslims left.. village after village after city after hamlet this was done.. for many many years..
And not only the lunatics under his command either for a thousand years it was that way.. by many commanders.. Todays muslims are merely getting in touch with their roots.. A muslim that is not a murdererous lunatic is a BAD MUSLIM.. Most are trained from their youth to be this way.. By the time they are teenagers their brain is addled..
The TRUTH about it all is stranger than fiction.. To survive the Mongols and Huns took social phsycopaths as phsycopathic as Attila.. and they were and still are..
That Mosque(in America) down the street from you (funded by the Saudis) is a lunatic asylum, its no CHURCH... And the Nation of Islam(Farrakhan) is little better.. its no wonder our jails are converting thousands of them.. Wonder what Louie(Farrakhan) is up to these days.. it must be, no good... Serious links to Dearborn Michigan no doubt..
You are correct, but my concern is mainly with how many of those would be weak-kneed, capitulating, knee-jerk liberal, nominal Catholic in name only types - those ecumenical-minded sorts who would undermine or sabotage their own in order to curry favor.
Not that they only exist amongst our number...every house probably has some.

Anecdotally, I'd say half.
POPE CONDEMNS PAKISTANI LEGISLATURE!!!!!!
That would be a real suprise, mooselims killing. I say wack them all. It should have been done on Sept. 12.
Hell, I don't mind Hitlery, has a sort of truth ring to it!
TRUTH!!
Isn't it wonderful how back in the 14th century, political correctness didn't silence the truth?
Mohammed IS the evil false prophet who has caused muslims to be enslaved by islam!
The darkness must be exposed...
We are facing a battle in this Country like nothing we have ever experienced. We need to wake up and prepare for the fight of our lives!
Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual [forces] of wickedness in the heavenly [places.]
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:11-13
When the sword is at our throats, how many of us will REFUSE to submit to islam? The day is coming...
Thanks for the ping AAC...great to see you!
Psssttt...USF...it is TIME for you to return!!!
That 14th century Byzantine emperor would qualify for Freeper status!
I pray for the Pope's safety.
Ahh, another Muzzie WHINE festival...amazing how the truth stirs up evil.
If "the truth will set you free", it appears that the muzzies prefer slavery.
Seriously tho... I'm waiting for more of the "true believers" to out themselves by doing what their ideology commands them - in front of riot police and armed troops.
Darwinism in action, is IMHO, always the most enjoyable way to watch their numbers go down.
Ya don't have to be an idiot to follow mohamMAD, but at times it sure seems to help.
They would be better off taking a look in the mirror and facing the issues in their own back yard first.
Theirs is an islamic apartheid state where intolerance rules, where non-Muslims live as second class citizens, where they can be accused of "insulting" the so-called "prophet" (penalty is death) by any muslim, and where women have acid poured on their faces, and where rape and child molestation is rampant.
In Pakistan, truth means nothing. Justice is either bought, hangs on personal or tribal affiliations, or is based on religious preference.
Lies and accusations of "insulting islam" or "blasphemy" is a common threat in the islamic playbook to make a wealthier or more powerful infidel submit to not only islam, but to muslim individuals who are taught the kuffar are not only to submit, but to be made to feel humiliation in submission.
As their whole existence is tentative, any non-muslim can be accused by a muslim of such a crime, and as a non-mulsim has no proper defense, so such allegations are routinely used in property conflicts and arguments amongst neighbors and business associates to allow muslims to steal, threaten, humiliate with the backing of islamic law and jurisprudence or simply the threat of it.
You have to understand the Pakistani mentality, to understand why they, as a nation, seek to exploit this quote by the Pope as an excuse to extract an grovelling apology.
They know their own nation is backward, and are looking for a sense of self worth and elevation is status. Even their arab middle eastern and south asian muslim "brothers and sisters" in Malaysia and Indonesia look upon Pakistan as the armpit of the ummah, and their people as indentured servants or cheap labor to exploit.
To hear the religious leader of the western "crusaders" kowtow to the armpit of the ummah would be a great victory, and indeed a great glorification for such a backward poverty ridden state, and for such a state to achieve this would demonstrate the power of islam to the entire ummah.

POLITICS IN PAKISTAN
(snip)
Islam is based on tolerance. The Koran does not teach compulsion. You can never force anyone to be religious or convert to Islam. You have to allow other people to practise their way of life and religion. You cannot abuse other people's sacred places. It is the arrogance of the West which is the problematic area. They believe whatever is acceptable in the Western culture is the thing that the whole world must follow. So if the West has pornography, nudity, sex on TV, then they think that is what everyone else should have. And if we do not have it, then they call that intolerance. To me that is utter nonsense. What is happening in Pakistan is that because our élite is Westernized, they copy the West and so we have Western programmes on our TV. But our people are really disgusted by that. The élite have control over the media. The people's views do not count. But there are a lot of people in the villages who feel very upset about it. It is the intolerance of the West which is imposing a viewpoint on the people of Pakistan because Westernized élite feel that they understand everything and they know what freedom and progress are and that is what everyone else should have.
If we practise our religion, stick with our crafts and local economy, practise family values and do not accept liberal Western modernity, we are considered intolerant. I am an Islamic democrat and our movement will have a referendum for things like what should be shown on TV. Who are we to dictate to everyone? It has to be a government of the people. At the same time we will give complete rights to the minorities, give them complete freedom as equal citizens. The rights of women and the rights of children will be protected. Above all, the rights of the common citizen, family and community will be considered paramount when our movement comes to power in Pakistan.

Oh wait a sec, a muslim who lies? Whoodathunk it...
The part I liked the best is where he wanders off to discuss how certain islamic values are not compatible with the west... I wish he would get into that a little more, for all our sakes. And no Imran, and the rest of you goat molesters, it's not all about getting porn on TV.
Conclusion: (from your link)
"The truth of the matter is that Islam will never achieve democracy and human rights if it insists on the application of the Sharia; and so long as there is no separation of church and state. But as Muir put it: " A reformed faith that should question the divine authority on which they [the institutions of Islam] rest, or attempt by rationalistic selection or abatement to effect a change, would be Islam no longer..."
