Christian Killed in Iraq in Response to Pope's Speech: Islamic Website
AINA ^ | September 16 2006

Posted on 09/16/2006 7:11:34 PM PDT by jmc1969

According to the website Islam Memo, one Christian was killed in Baghdad after the Pope's speech two days ago. The speech created a wave of anger throughout the Islamic world, including Iraq.

A poster has been placed in many Baghdad mosques for the previously unknown group, "Kataab Ashbal Al Islam Al Salafi,". This group threatens to kill all Christians in Iraq if the Pope does not apologize in three days in front of the whole world to Mohammed.

Either way, he's with Jesus now because of his martyrdom.

And those who killed the Saint, are heading straight to Hell in a handbasket at the end of their pathetic time on this planet.

This group threatens to kill all Christians in Iraq if the Pope does not apologize in three days in front of the whole world to Mohammed.

Fox News to carry the apology, and negotiate the terms for the ransom. Maybe even try to tell the Pope to read some words off of a piece of paper. It is not really a conversion if you do not believe it in your heart, after all.

I didn't think the Moose were stupid or reckless enough to assume the Pope speaks for evangelicals and Orthodox. This is going to, I believe, fortuitously force Christian denominations together.

I can remember when george Bush got in trouble for calling this excursion into Iraq a Crusade.

Well dammit , its time it was a crusade.

The islamics are getting stronger while our politicians and politicienas all around the world are sitting on their butts watching it happen and crapping in their panties. Its time the world sent a mesage even the stupid Islamics can understand. Stop this crap about killing anyone not Islamic or be killed yourself. Its time for self-defense now, before we are all kneeling to Mecca or dead.

He may not, but in this case I can't find anything wrong/inaccurate with what he said (or more accurately, what the Byzantine Emperor, whom Pope Benedict quoted, said).
Nothing to apologize about. The Truth only hurts if you're living a lie - and better to find that out now, rather than when its too late.

He sited a quote from the Byzantine emperor, "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached".

The entire speech is here.

Manuel II Paleologus - the great Byzantine Emperor who was dealing with Muslims in the late 14th century:

but his son is also one of history's real hero - he died definding the holy city of Constantinople when it fell to the Muslim Turks in 1453...

A Christian killed huh? No suprise and I'm certain he or she were properly beheaded. I hate to beat this drum but if anyone has not seen a beheading, go to Ogrish.com and view one. I was warned that it would change my life and it did. Pure muslim barbarian animals in action.

I have seen posts on other sites calling for nuclear extinction of the arab world and laughed them off. I must admit that I truly consider this an option.

I agree, but so far they have only paid lip service.

There has been no real effort by Islamics to control these leading Mullahs who drive them to perform their sorry tasks.

It appears to me that to study the Koran enough to become a religious leader, an Imam it requires lunacy.

Re your post 20, I think that the Muslims just aren't aware of the attitudes and lethal capabilities of some Americans. There are some people in the county in which I live, for example, that I wouldn't want to meet in any dark alley.

The same applies to Europe. The Germans, for example, have produced some pretty mean fellows in the past. We'll look past the French; not much danger from that quarter.

If this situation should worsen and fighting were to break out, I think that the folks over in those Arab lands are going to be up against some brutal forces that they've never seen or anticipated before. They're going to wish that they had increased their white flags production.

McCain and Graham, insane and a pain.

Little Lindsey, all puffed up, speaking in a southern drawl, offering poetic sophistry rooted in nothing more than the clinking ice in an empty glass of bourbon.

As for McCain, he deserves a plastic tumbler. Filled with air, comparable to his ideas, empty.

"Probably not. I'm strictly a Protestant and I'm with the Pope here."

My comment had more to do with the concept of long term denominational differences rather than the short term "coming together" in support of the Pope. The biggest problem, though, is the schism between conservative and liberal factions within all denominations. Has anyone read any commentary on the Pope's speech coming from the liberal side of the pew? I have not. I'm curious to hear what they are saying. As they tend to be pro-Arab, this would seem to present them with a dilemma.
