"[Fitzgerald]can redeem himself by dropping the prosecution."

Fitzgerald has proved himself to be an incompetent, media hungry, partisan hack. Nothing will redeem him. He will be forever relegated to being a hairball in the dustbin of history.

Wonder if the book deal is still on.

Trust me, it is. Even if the book never gets written. Plenty of NYC publishing houses would give them 100 grand and write it off, just for trying.

Oh, yeah, I forgot one other way to make them rich: the nets will be outbidding each other for their services as "national security analysts" so they can pretend to be "experts" and second-guess everything Bush does.

I was pretty amazed as well that it was in the Daily News. Here at our new home in PA just this week, I picked up the Friday edition for the Eagles coverage for hubby, and decided to read through it, to see if this was a paper worth subscribing to. I lived here 5 years ago for a year or so & remembered memorable covers mostly.

However, Ms. Flowers' column was such a gem (along the lines of those "Nailed it!" threads that Tolik references in his marvelous ping list), I had to come onto FR and see if it made it yet. I was actually surprised it hadn't already been posted. I couldn't find any archive of hers, so I don't even know if she's written anything else. It's a keeper.

I haven't seen him myself, either, but I don't watch much MSNBC anymore. I suspect Larry will be around for awhile, as there are always enough kooks to buy everything he says. I used to tune into Scarborough, but I can't barely stomach the Greta-redux format he's wallowing in (neither can anyone else, looking at his ratings slide to the bottom of the talk shows).

Though apparently not a regular full-time employee (she is a lawyer), Christine is a frequent columnist at the Daily News. I've read her columns before. HERE are some of her other headlines, with blurbs. I think you need to be a subscriber to read whole columns.

"Fitzgerald is on one of the most critical of all terrorist investigations- the financial nexus between Iraq and al Qaeda, the terror charities, and the nuclear proliferation network, and no doubt others unnamed. The Saar group, Global Relief Foundation, Iraq's front group network, the Holy Land Foundation, Hamas and Hezbollah- if he can be sullied in the trivial matter of leaking the name of a pencil pushing media star then it may be to the advantage of those financial networks under investigation."

I share your concerns on this, but maybe the best solution would be if he can be promptly replaced on ALL of his investigations - surely there is another US Attorney somewhere who could be at least as competent on the financial investigations, and Fitz-dork's gross INcompetence and blatant biases on Pflamegate make me seriously doubt that he is the right person to have on any investigation of national and international importance. If feasible, I'd much rather see the Justice Dept. replace him on the other terror financing investigations and repudiate his gross mis-handling of Pflamgate matters.

Peroxide can whiten your teeth as well as it can lighten your hair... Better living through chemistry, you know?

I'm firmly in your camp on this one. In the end, this whole Plame Game will go right back to Rocky and Schumer. I don't know that Team Libby has entered this memo into the court record, but it would be my hope that they do at some point. This memo is the whole genesis of this persecution, and Rocky and Schumer should pay a very heavy price for their involvement with it.

Your new home in PA? Well welcome to the Keystone State! Hope you stay longer this time. WE need all the "right wing religious wacko extremists" we can get here ! And an Eagles fan to boot. God Bless you. Just remember we say "Iggles" when we mean "Eagles"; if some asks for a glass of "wooder", they mean WATER, & when ordering a cheesteak at Genos, "Please speak English"!(HA) and you'll do fine here in "Penn's Woods".
Seriously though, welcome. As far as newspapers go there is a new version of "The Evening Bulletin" that came out about a year or two ago. Nice conservative paper. As far as Sports goes though, you can't beat the Daily News. As far as my opinion of "The Inquirer", well, I don't use that kind of language to a lady...LOL
Nice to have another Freeper in the neighborhood. Hope you like it here.

Thank you! I expect we will stay MUCH longer this time: it really is beautiful here - and everyone has been MARVELOUSLY friendly in the week I've been here and met them. Last time we lived here - I learned much of this on the tail end of our stay, and always knew I could live here again happily. ("religious, right-wing wacko extremists" get very lonely in CA, S.D. FReepers notwithstanding - GREAT people.)

Yep - Eagles fans (one of us is over at Igglephans.com quite often)... (complete with the stereotypical gnashing of teeth after this past game!)

I'm familiar with Geno's (and Pat's), though not since his awesome new billboard complete with INSTRUCTIONS ON ORDERING. ;).

I'll look around for the Evening Bulletin. Up here the local paper is the Souderton Independent - very small, very local, and only once a week! Thank you again!
