Some highlights from the Nonaligned Movement summit's final declaration.

TERRORISM:

Denounces the brutalization of peoples under foreign occupation as the gravest form of terrorism. Asks that terrorism not be associated with any religion, nationality or ethnic group and that it be recognized that the struggle of peoples under colonial or alien domination does not constitute terrorism.

MIDEAST CONFLICTS:

Strongly condemns "the relentless Israeli aggression launched against Lebanon." Promotes a revival of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Supports the Palestinian people's "inalienable right to self-determination in their independent and sovereign State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital."

NUCLEAR IRAN:

Defends the right of all countries to use atomic energy for peaceful purposes. Declares even the threat of attack against peaceful nuclear facilities to be "a great danger to human beings and the environment." Recognizes the International Atomic Energy Agency as the sole authority on nuclear verification. Encourages Iran to cooperate actively and fully with the IAEA to promote confidence and a peaceful resolution of the issue." Calls for a "nuclear-weapon-free zone" in the Middle East, including Israel.

"so the USSR can be said to still exist on some level."
Well, on this particular occasion you ought to have used communist phraseologism: "it lives [or "continues to live"] in the hearts of the proletarians". Ditto here. What else to expect from the kegebuns and their fellow-travelers?

They don't even have a dedicated website themselves. Even another famous confab organization, the Commonwealth, has one. All I can find are sites hosted by wealthier member countries' ministries of foreign affairs that are dedicated to whatever year the annual conference is held in that country.

Note that any countries that become members of regional alliances eg NATO, EU etc are disqualified. For instance, Malta, Cyprus, Finland, and Austria were all past members and they have all withdrawn since they joined EU. ASEAN or SAARC don't seem to count as members...

It seems that the Non-Alligned Nations would make some accomodation--maybe non-voting status or Honorary Anti-American Terrorist or something like that--for Americans who want the U.S.A. to be a Third World Nation (or no nation at all).

White is black, up is down, ignorance is strength, freedom is slavery, etc.

Indian was a founding member of NAM along with Egypt and Yoguslavia. Then, as now, it is ruled by the quasi-communist Congress Party. India won't be really free till the Congress is flushed down the toilet.

Great. So what if it is anyway? There is a reason these nonaligned are third world and emerging former communist states.

Putin sends greetings to Non-Aligned Movement summit - MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia views the Non-Aligned Movement as a key element of the modern architecture of international relations, and wishes to continue mutually beneficial cooperation, say President Vladimir Putin greetings to delegates and guests of the movement’ s 14th summit in Havana.

“The world has encountered new threats – terrorism, interethnic crises and conflicts, uneven economic development, and environmental problems,” run the greetings posed by the Kremlin press service on Friday. “I think that the search for collective solutions would be the most adequate way of reacting to these modern challenges. The search should be conducted not only by particular states but also by regional and international organizations.”

“This is the reason why the Non-Aligned Movement is in such demand nowadays. Over 100 member states display their readiness for a constructive discussion of major problems, a compromise and a collective stand. I am confident that these very principles should make the core of international relations in the 21st century,” the greetings run.

“Russia and the Non-Aligned Movement are brought together by the understanding of their common responsibility for the world future, the wish to overcome the confrontation logic, and the choice of multilateral partnership,” Putin said. “Our relations have a long and rich history. They have been invariably based on mutual respect, a high level of mutual understanding, and the wish to cooperate. We act hand-in-hand at the main international forum, the United Nations. Fair decisions in the reform of the international organization in keeping with modern requirements will meet our interests.”

“The Non-Aligned Movement is not only a key partner to Russia. We view it as a key element of the modern architecture of international relations and hope for further interaction for the benefit of people of our countries and the civilization at large,” the greetings run.

Numerous radical states, some 'former' Soviet clients, within the Non-Aligned Movement are Putin's armed proxies in his hidden agenda to destroy the West.

I don't really mind India hobnobbing with the NAM, SCO, Russia, China, Iran every once in a while. Its our bargaining chip to make US let go of Pakistan. And if it doesn't work then its also a good idea to keep other options open.
