What is ironic is that Chris Wallace and others are trying to make the case the it is BUSH that timed this to happen right now before the NOV. elections..but, we know better.

The reason for the timing is because of the Hamdan case...and it took awhile for the military and the judical dept to get together and see what should be done.

THEN, you have to take in account that the DEMS and Reps were on vacation until 2 weeks ago...it was hard to do this BEFORE now for Pres. Bush.

but, to hear the MSM tell it...Bush SHOULD have done this a LONG time ago...

I respect the service of both Powell and McCain. But the military has awards,honors and compensations for all that.
We may never be able to compensate McCain for the torture he obviously endured while a POW. But,that being said, it should not allow him the privilege to go against the party whenever the spirit moves him.
IMHO He has the right to be honored for his service and the torture he withstood but not his misdeeds.
