And this all started in Jan 2001? Come on Pat, you're going to have to do better than that. Cuckoo, cuckoo.

Now that should be grounds for impeachment of any president - unlike failing to give Hilton-style accommodations at Club Gitmo.
On the other hand, Congress, Clinton, and everyone else are just as much to blame.

Instead of referring to Buchanan as a "Republican firebrand," the reporter should have referred to him as the "leader of the kook fringe."
Does anyone really care what Buchanan has to say about anything?
To: EveningStar; Jim Robinson
Sad comments by Buchanan.
I agree with him on the borders but calling for Bush's impeachment is going way too far.
Future articles by Buchanan should be banned from FR.

Buchanan is going too far. Yes, there's a problem with illegal immigration. It is difficult to see how engaging in a process of impeaching Bush would solve it. Furthermore, impeachment is a tool against personal high crimes and misdemeanours, not advocating policies which do not work.

If there would be one reason to impeach Bush, that would be it... Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
Bush has certainly sold us out with his immigration policy. I don't know what the heck he's thinking with this amnesty crap.

Joe who????
So what? Half the democratic party thinks the same way. Does that mean they're right, too?
I would give this argument much more creedence if it had orignated from another source: Pat Buchannan happens to be right, but in the same way that a broken clock is.
I would hardly look to Pat Buchannan for leadership on any issue, since he has gone so far right that he is in danger of wrapping-around and becoming a Leftist, in tone at least, if not in fact. I wouldn't trust Pat Buchannan to lead a three-year old to the crapper.
I will, however, give credit where it's due: he has found an issue to pound the President and the disliked (by him) elements of the Republican party. It will sell him an awful lot of books and ensure appearances on all the cable talk shows. However, Pat doesn't exactly offer solutions, nor does he lead any political power base that will cater to his pet peeve. He's also a turncoat (anyone who abandoned the Republican party for the Perot banner is a turncoat; those folks brought us 8 years of Bill Clinton). In this regard, Pat is preaching to the choir.
Now, if Pat were to come forward with something more than "build a fence, impeach the president" I might be inclined to listen.

Pat's living in an alternate reality. While he is absolutely correct in that the border invasion constitutes more than adequate grounds for impeachment, there is no chance in Hell of that happening as long as the Democrats' unreasoning and unreasonable extremism forces all non-Democrats to band together in support of the President.

Bush has grossly failed to uphold his duties and oath of office as it regards the border. Unfortunately, so have his predecessors and so does most of Congress.
The solution to politicians like Bush is not far-out schemes like impeachment. It is to elect better politicians. Unfortunately the front-runners for 2008 are all open-border types again. It may be that the best we can hope for is that the House continues to hold off Amnesty and massive third-world migration increases for a few more years.

Bush has certainly sold us out with his immigration policy. Why don't you & Buchanan continue hammering the administration on the issue instead of knee-jerking for an impeachment. That's what you do - you hold their feet to the fire on this issue. Already, Bush and the Senate are on the defensive while the House Republicans have support from the American people. You impeach Bush and Cheney will be President and will continue the administration's policy. What will you have gained?

Calling for Bush's impeachment hurts our troops' morale.

Well .. it goes back a lot farther than Clinton .. it's been ignored for years. To single out Bush is just plain ignorant.
And .. why not impeach the Congress for not DOING THEIR JOB.
Buchanan was mending his fences (so to speak) with his current book - which I've heard has some good info in it. Now, with this idiotic statement, he's blown all that away.
