What's his track record when it comes to predictions? That wouldn't betray any sources, but it would give us an idea how credible he is.
From what he says: "well over 95%", but you'd have to ask him for the stats, H. I've never heard anyone call him a liar. His souces seem to bear him out.

Tancredo needs to run in 2008. The worse our frontrunners for president appear the more I think he's got a chance of winning.
•DOVER TEACHER DEAL REPORTED ON FRIDAY (POSTED SEPTEMBER 17TH) The long awaited contract deal for teachers in the Dover School District was made in the midst of York Fair week with news coming out on Friday. 'The York Dispatch' reported the deal with word that all sides were mum. The 'York Daily Record' put a small item in its less read Saturday edition saying that Dover School Board negotiator Rob McIlvane would not confirm an agreement. However, Pennsylvania State Education Association negotiator Clinton Gibbs told the newspaper that there was an agreement. The old conservative school board offered teachers four percent pay raises with a merit pay option of five percent. The new Dover CARES board has made a more liberal offer of 6.64 percent in the first year and five percent in the next three years, retroactive to July 1,2005. What the final deal might contain is a secret for the momemt, but guessimates are that it will cost taxpayers at least five million dollars.
•BIG PROPERTY TAX BILLS HIT HOME, BUT WATCH OUT FOR INCOME TAX VOTES NEXT YEAR......(SPECIAL NEWS ANALYSIS) (POSTED SEPTEMBER 17TH)
In spite of limits on tax rate increases, the school property tax bills in York County took big jumps this summer. For people whose homes were reassessed 50 percent or more that obviously meant tax hikes of over 50 percent. School districts were restricted to 10 percent rate hikes but with higher values homeowners took a big hit. My own school property tax bill went up nearly 60 percent. If you didn't pay the bill directly over the summer, but have it escrowed your monthly mortgage payments are going to take a hit that you will soon feel. But even worse taxation may be on the way for working homeowners (not retired). The new Act 1 law pushed through by those same legislative leaders in Harrisburg that gave us the pay raise and signed by Governor Rendell this year is complicated. Taking it apart though, I have come to some conclusions. Tax study commissions set up under the law by school districts will give a window dressing of citizens recommending that school boards seek voter approval for school district income taxes. The law requires a 'front end' referendum in all school districts next May 15th to authorize them to impose an income tax. And while the law contains a provision for a 'back end' referendum if property taxes go over an inflation index that is different for each school district (for example West York's rate is 4.7 percent) there are 14 exceptions that school districts can use to avoid having the voters decide on school districts budgets and how to pay for them. What I see is that the school districts getting the authority from you next spring to impose an income tax to offer property tax relief may enable them to impose the new taxes without you getting a chance to vote on them because of all the exceptions in the law. Watch out. An income tax will probably take more money out of your pocket than any property tax relief you would enjoy under a homestead exception, etc. If you make 55-thousand a year a one percent income tax takes 550 dollars out of your pocket. If you're only getting a 200 dollar property tax break you understand what I'm saying. Nobody wants to deal with wasteful spending on consultants, high salaries and low employee contributions to health care plans for school employees, among other things. Recently, Wal-Mart started telling some of its long-term associates that they will not be paid any more because there is a cap on salaries. Imagine salary caps for people who work in schools and how about larger contributions for health costs. Most school employees are putting in 5 or 10 percent of the cost while at Wal-Mart they pick up 20 percent of the burden. And lets not forget the new expensive buildings and facilities as well that contribute to our large tax bills. Act 1 doesn't address these problems because the education establishment that includes the Pennsylvania State Education Association have the politicians in their back pockets. All it does is to give us a shell game of new taxes for old that takes more out of our pockets to fund their schemes.
•BIG STINK IN SPRING GROVE (POSTED SEPTEMBER 14TH)
The alleged hazing that led to discipline of football players at Spring Grove High School has spread to the basketball team with at least six players facing suspension from the team and in school suspension for alleged hazing. School officials aren't commenting on the investigations, but a school board member, William Clancy, is reported saying he is not surprised that one investigation led to another. At Monday night's school board meeting angry students and parents expressed their view that the football players were not punished severely enough and that hazing had occurred on the basketball team. Some parents felt that the school district should go as far as punishing students for what they post on social web sites like MySpace. Those comments apparently led administrators in the school district to conduct a new investigation involving the basketball team. Northern Regional Police have charged five football players with summary harrassment and players have been suspended from one scrimmage and one regular season game for their involvement in an incident at football camp last month. That's when upper class members of the team imitated anal sex by rubbing their hips against the buttocks of lower class players. The allegations against basketball players focus on what happened at a basketball camp in West Virginia in June. One of the basketball players being punished for that told the 'York Daily Record' he felt there was horsing around going on, not hazing of freshmen players.

Dover School District Superintendent Dr. Richard Nilsen says he's decided not to make his evaluation public. Nilsen revealed his decision at a board meeting this week and said his decision was in consultation with the school board that decided not to renew his contract when it expires next year. Board member Heather Geesey says the decision is directly linked to Nilsen's refusal to stop the old school board from moving forward with its intelligent design policy. Earlier this summer Nilsen said he would make the evaluation public. The superintendent said he still would like his old job back, but feels he doesn't have to interview with any other applicants who may come forward for the job. He also says he is looking for another job as well if he isn't back after next year. (ANALYSIS) The firings of Superintendent Nilsen and Assistant Superintendent Michael Baksa have been a source of controversy for the new liberal Dover CARES controlled school board. That, along with the continuing contract impasse with teachers make for tough sledding for Dover CARES in next year's school board elections. The outcome of next spring's primary elections for school board may break the logjams in both situations. The Dover CARES board may feel free to move after the election results come in if they win or may act quickly if they lose to hand a new board the task of paying for an expensive new teacher contract. Dover CARES could also bring in a new superintendent who reflects their liberal ideology and tie the new board down with a long term contract.................

My friend who recently returned from Iraq said there was nothing worse than one of his guys getting it from one of Sadr's thugs, and then they would have to hold back and fight a politically correct fight. Medved is very sensitive about immigration because his grandfather barely got into the country. We're living in different times now, however. I know a boatload of Republicans and many center Dems - some whose work is in danger of being insourced - who would vote for Tancredo in a heartbeat. As far as the Left-wing of the Dems, who cares?- you'll never get their vote and wouldn't want it anyway. And unlike Buchanan, Tancredo is very pro-Israel.

I never bent to that wind, I liked Goldwater when I was but a wee lad. My grandmother told me that he was right about Vietnam and the Soviets, that was good enough for me. She raised 8 children, with my granddad either out carousing(he was a rounder in the parlance of the day) or dead (he died when the oldest was 16). She practically stared a hole in me, when I asked if she was on welfare as a single mother. She said "NO, I would not take their money, there were others who needed it more". She was the school teacher, Postmistress, cooked for a ranch (along with her daughters) and took in sewing. SHE was my hero, and I would be willing to bet that she would LOVE Tancredo.
The strangest thing is, ALL 6 of her daughters, are hardcore liberal voters, while believing the same things she espoused. Something about Dims being the party of the working man.
Somebody on the right needs to address that perception, and we would have this ship of state back on course in no time.
