From the Globe And Mail, this is what the Pope Actually SAID...
"The Pope, quoting a 15th-century Byzantine emperor, told his audience at the University of Regensburg: "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."
He used the words to illustrate that violence is contrary to the nature of God.
Vatican officials insisted he meant no disrespect to Muslims and that the quotation was taken out of context. But the defence failed to mute Muslim anger."
Thanks. Outrage is a weapon used in the clash of societies.
Far too few observers understand that this statement did not offend moslems. In fact, it was welcomed by them because it gave them a chance to engage once more in their psychological jihad of intimidation. None of these frothing filthy dogs are "angry" in the usual human sense of the term. They are delighted to have a chance to force the leading figure of Christendom to bow down in submission before them. They got George Bush to bow down when they pretended to wet themselves over "Operation Infinite Justice." They castrated the posers and pansies of the Western press over a bunch of ridiculous cartoons. And I will be interested to see if the Pope bows down before the illiterate pagan savages before this is over.
