You seem unusually close to your pooch...
I thought it had washed out to sea last year.

I'll assume you mean the edible not the danceable.
I was a cop in Dallas, in a Detroit suburb, and in Illinois. I'll take anywhere in Detroit or Dallas over some parts of Chicago.
Sorry, I couldn't resist, but seriously, I'm assuming that NO wasn't considered a big city.
Oh, whoops, of course! :)
"Always?" How stupid. Obviously that is not the situation because NYC has by far the lowest crime rate and some of the strictest gun laws on the books of any place in the Country. Note that the bottom four cities on the list have a crime rate nearly three times as high as NYC and are located in states where gun laws are comparatively non-existant. I don't know whether NYC's low crime rate is because of the super-strict gun laws or in spite of them, I am not suggesting cause and effect, and I am not suggesting that our rights under the Second Amendment should be at the mercy of statistics. What I am saying is that there are very few absolutes in life and to use the word "always" as you did is incredibly stupid and defies the obvious.
After asking I figured that out too. You will never find me complaining about a smartass answer unless it is because I didn't give it first.

"Error 404: NOT FOUND!"
I tried to pull the page up in IE and Firefox with no luck. Is your previous post from this site?
Sheesh. Even the headline is a lie!
From the very FBI site linked in the article:
The article is rating the crime rates of the top ten cities in population. Detroit is number 11, so it is not listed here.
Rest assured though, if this was a list of the ten most dangerous cities, Detroit would be right up there!

You know your mayor is bad when she makes you long for a racist nutjob former mayor.
Katrina, the gift that keeps giving.
I guess I feel a little better living where I do. There are benefits to living in a poor state in that most folks don't have a whole lot worth killing over unless you want your neighbor's trailer : )
