Good point. I think red states might be a bit more diligent about recording crime.

For example, one city may report more crime than a comparable one, not because there is more crime, but rather because its law enforcement agency through proactive efforts identifies more offenses. Attitudes of the citizens toward crime and their crime reporting practices, especially concerning minor offenses, also have an impact of the volume of crimes known to police.

L.A. and San Diego didn't take in nearly as many New Orleans refugees (career criminals) as Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and even Phoenix did. There are just some crimes that even illegals from south of the border won't do. :)

Good point. I think the real reason for the higher crime rates though was because red stater are more interesting in finding out what's going and blue staters are more interested in covering things up.

I can't imagine Dallas being worse than Philly.
