Hip Hop Caucus President to Use Civil Disobedience at White House
Afterdowningstreet.org ^ | 2006-09-20 | Abena Agyeman-Fisher

Posted on 09/20/2006 11:35:47 AM PDT by Maceman

Giving Congress up to September 21 to stop the invasion of Iraq, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, CEO of the Hip Hop Caucus of Washington D.C., and Church of God and Christ minister, plans to lead a press conference in front of the White House to protest the war in Iraq on Thursday (Sept. 21).

Yearwood, citing a moral obligation, says that he, along with 270 cities and 350 organizations nationwide, will no longer be passive observers of Bush's War on Terror. "We are in a time of peril in which people of morals have to stand up. We are willing to do whatever it takes-all on peace-to urge Congress and the administration to take a new course on Iraq, including a timely and responsible withdrawal of troops," he stated.

Known for his work with ubiquitous hip hop stars such as Jay-Z and Diddy (as senior consultant to their "Voice Your Choice" and "Citizen Change" groups, respectively) as well as serving as national grassroots and political director for Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Summit Action Network, Yearwood and about fifty supporters plan to demonstrate with speeches and a public signing of a "Declaration of Peace" document. Some of the speech participants slated to be in attendance are Congressman John Lewis (GA) and national religious leader Father Louis Vitale, former pastor of Saint Barnabas Church.

Yearwood intends to present the "Declaration of Peace" to President Bush by approaching the White House gates with interlocked arms. Yearwood adds, "We will do whatever it takes [even] if it calls to be arrested or bodily harmed, we must make a stand."

Events, dubbed "A Week of Action," will follow with peace vigils, fund-raising dinners, workshops, peace caravans, pole planting, and parades throughout the country and in Puerto Rico until the 28.

Louis Vitale is a burnt-out hippy priest who spends most of his time getting arrested all around the country in anti-military wackiness.

He is about to get fired from his parish in San Francisco due to his absenteeism.

And trust me, it is close to impossible for a priest to get fired from a parish in SF.

Truly. And it is the swamp fever crowd like these idiots that are the GOP's biggest asset going into the mid-terms. Americans are starting to be turned off in a big way over the rhetoric of the Democratic leadership and their fellow travelers on the far left. I think it is the anger politics of the Democrats that have brought home the GOP base more than anything behind Bush and now appears to be working to turn them out in big numbers come November. I said all along the more rank the Democrats get in their rhetoric, the more they'll do to solidify the base behind Bush and the GOP for November. And Chavez's deranged comments before the UN today will continue to rally the base around the president and the party. Every time they open their stupid mouths it does the work of $10 million worth of GOTV efforts by the GOP. Let's hope they don't get smart and go silent.

Hip Hop Caucus????????

Yeah, I always take my political advice on the survival of Western Civilization when threatened by Muslim despots who want to kill me and enslave my family from morons who lack any redeaming values except being able to rhyme really well about demeaning women as "ho's". I mean, if you can't get get good military tactical advice from them, where the heck are you going to go?

Please, would somebody advise this gentleman that the last good thing black culture gave to America was Rock & Roll, and that's been forty years now, and that thanks to LBJ and a gradual decay of values, his constiuancy now spends more time birthing illigitimate babies, killing each other and "doing time" than actually acomplishing anything.

Seriously, the people you and I are forced to learn about during Black Awareness Month--the scientists, the statesmen, the artists and Abolistionsts--if they were alive today, would be shunned by their own people as being "too white" for the accomplishments they made, and for actually having jobs and expectations for the future. George Washington Carver and his fellows would stand agast at what the sugary government teat has turned their people into, and that Rap is actually considered "art" by the blacks, and what is worse, is considered to be the best example of all that their culture can be expected to produce in the 21st Century.

It is a sad day when "rappers" (criminals good at rhyming, see above) earn more money than hardworking people trying to take care of their families, and when the most successful blacks (say, Bill Cosby, Condoleeza Rice, and Clarence Thomas) are snubbed by black culture because if they achieved so much, they must be "Uncle Toms" of some stripe.

Mr. Yearwood sounds like he would blame rain on wet streets.

But, I suppose this is all a matter of how much "street cred" this nincompoop has. And it sounds like he's full of it.

A friend of mine, a loyal Democrat from Long Island, just e-mailed me his disgust over all that's going on, esp. the loon Iranian and Venezuelan presidents at the UN and said this: "but i think i'm to the right of you now. i dont even want the dems to win the house."

If even long time party loyalists like him are pissed off and don't want the Dems. in control of congress, when only weeks ago he was praying for a Democratic take over, then there are many more like him. November may well shape up to be a real nice election for the Republicans after all, thanks to the lunacy on the left.

"We are in a time of peril in which people of morals have to stand up. Be prepared to inundate the IRS and FEC with 501c violations as these 350 organizations violate the "advocacy" provisions of their special tax status (I realize that not all of these organizations will be 501cs BUT you can bet that some of them are).

section 504: "Status after organization ceases to qualify for exemption under section 501(c)(3) because of substantial lobbying or because of political activities."

(excerpt) Sec. 504. Status after organization ceases to qualify for exemption under section 501(c)(3) because of substantial lobbying or because of political activities

(a) General rule

An organization which--
(1) was exempt (or was determined by the Secretary to be exempt) from taxation under section 501(a) by reason of being an organization described in section 501(c)(3), and
(2) is not an organization described in section 501(c)(3)--
(A) by reason of carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting, to influence legislation, or
(B) by reason of participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office,
shall not at any time thereafter be treated as an organization described in section 501(c)(4).

Hip talk came to be from slaves/laborers talking "hip" so as the boss man would not "dig" what they were saying to one another.

But rap owes more to pimps and players in the criminal system. Especially the "toast" tradition among pimps.

We might as well be having Smithsonian retrospectives of prison tattoos.
