This is the same Senate that wanted to call amnesty tighter security a few months ago. I ain't holding my breath on anything meaningful passing.

I understand that, but the senate has been filibustering it for the last six years by fillinf it so full of holes and special rights for illegals that even voting on it is progress.

So when is the "actual" vote on the measure to take place?

In theory when the Senate isn't running a dog and pony show? A couple of hours. Now? Who knows.

You should perhaps rephrase it being the Dem senators , most Repub senators support a fence along the mexico border.

IIRC, Senator Kay Baily Hutchinson was advocating the 'virtual fence' a few months ago.

I would but I can't quite figure out who's going to be the RINOs for the day or if it will be the usual suspects.

Wow. This is amazing. Obviously the bill is going to pass big time. I never thought this would happen. Hopefully they appropriate the money to build it. That might be the kicker in all this. I guess election year politics did it.
To: RobFromGa
All of this is grandstanding without the funding for it. That will not be voted on till AFTER the election, next year. Soemthing tells me this will go nowhere except to empower all those lovely Senaturds to say "I voted for the Fence."
IMO of course
To: RobFromGa
and electrified with a giant 250 foot high ZOT! sign that lights up whenever a short is detected in the fence...LOL. Bug zapper on steroids. Works for me.

This is confusing. I thought, last I heard, that the Senate had voted to not fund a fence...
THE SENATE ARE A WORTHLESS LOST OF POS's!!! They're being "lobbied" (to put it nicely) by representatives from Mexico as we speak.
Why pay any attention to them?
Our immigration laws are not being enforced and, without the WALL that we needed decades ago, we don't even have a BORDER!
Hasta la vista, U.S.A.

LOL, lots of D's on that list. Kerry's non-vote may come back to bite him in the backside if he thinks he's going to run for Prez. Hillary voted, he didn't. Sounds like ammunition for a future campaign.

Well, if Congress won't fund it, maybe we could hold a national telethon and citizens could raise money and pay for it ourselves :)

So what do YOU want to do to close the border? The fence is a pretty good start.
