Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said, "While I've made it clear that I prefer a comprehensive solution, I have always said we need an enforcement-first approach to immigration reform."
If it doesn't deal with anchor babies, it isn't comperehensive.
Simply put, the elected members of the senate are cowards.
The bigger problem is that not enough of them are conservatives.
And we can blame Arkansas, North Dakota, and West Virginia for being three Red states that each have two liberal Senators. There's six conservatives missing from the Senate.
Then we can blame Indiana, Louisiana, Montana, and South Dakota, and Nebraska for sending one liberal Senator from their Red State. That's five more right there.
That's a total of eleven Senators that should be conservatives who are instead Liberals.
And that is without looking at Purple States.
This sounds like an excellent idea. I might even check off on something like this, although I never checked off on the election fund thats on the IRS form now.
We need to keep a very close eye on this one.
How about allowing the Border Patrol and National Guard to do their job? Giving them the tools to do it well; not arresting them for doing it as best they can with their hands tied behind their backs.
Not Voting - 6
Those are just six reasons why I've had my tagline so long,
and why it has been, and always will be, current.
Now let's vote to send back 11 million illegal aliens that are consuming way too much U.S. gasoline. WELLA-we've lowered our demand for Arab fuel.
Who is the complete fool? Thems fightin' words, DES! And who would "sit out" an election? I haven't done that in 54 years if voting, though I will admit there have been times I've been sorely tempted. Lighten up.
Good idea. ;o)
They can't fund it? How do you know this? Congress can give itself the authority to borrow as much as they want. If they weren't allowed to go into the red, the US either would be in default right now or there would be some serious spending cuts.
Complete with amnesty. I am amazed at how many Americans demand a fence. simply because the Federal government has failed to perform the job that they are tasked, and funded, to perform. Where is the hue and cry over a "land grab" to build a useless fence/wall on private property? How about imposing upon MEXICO the responsibility to administer their side of the border? Or build a freakin wall on the south side of the border. If it is so effective.
"Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada countered, "We can build the tallest fence in the world and it won't fix our broken immigration system." To do that, he said, "we need the kind of comprehensive reform that the Senate passed earlier this year." "
I say this in response to Sen. Hugo Reid: We spend much more than a couple Billion bucks a year providing health care, schooling, law enforcement, etc. as a result of these illegals. Building a wall will not keep out everyone; on that single point you are right, Sen. Hugo. However, it will keep the Mama and the bambino's out since they won't want to risk the wall. If Papa is in the U.S. illegally, most of those Papas will go back to Mexico to be with Mama and the bambinos. If the entire family is here, they won't leave. Pretty tough to figure out, isn't it?
BUILD THE WALL!!! The costs avoided will pay for the wall inside of one year and the on-going problem will be greatly diminished - look at the Israeli situation.
Because this way, the senators who did not vote will have their names recorded..and thus provides some fuel for Repubs.
They were saved from the Phantom Filabuster.
Transfer funds that would normally go to services for illegal aliens, to building the fence. Set up a bank account specifically for the fence. I'd donate and think others would too.
Just in time for the general election. Some mid termers might skate, but by the time the general election rolls around if we don't see a fence. there could be repercussions! woohoo!
