One of two men arrested in the January fatal beating of New York Times journalist David E. Rosenbaum pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, robbery and conspiracy charges yesterday. A Washington Post article with Mr. Rosenbaum's bio.
"Two robbery victims said they have testified before a grand jury investigating the slaying of the reporter, David E. Rosenbaum, and other crimes. The victims, a 28-year-old Senate staff member and a 72-year-old retired D.C. police officer, said they were mugged in October and November -- weeks before Rosenbaum was taken by surprise and assaulted Jan. 6 on a Northwest Washington street."
"Both victims said police did little to investigate their cases until after the suspects were arrested in Rosenbaum's death. Now, they said, police are taking a close look at the crimes."
