Delahunt and Joe Kennedy with his 'charity', Citizens Energy that pays Joe $800k/year, are Hugo's B**ches.

A lot of Venezuelans have escaped chavez and come to Florida. I'll bet they have grievances that would justify impounding Venezuelan assets here.

Joe Kennedy makes $800k/year from Citizens Energy???? Please tell me you're exagerrating. I have to admit I did not think he received a salary from them and thought it was a non-profit.

"Citgo attempted to dismantle the “neon god” in 1983, but abandoned the plan under protests from the city."

What is sadist aspect of this story is that some Bostonians think a corporate emblem for a foreign owned oil company is an icon. How pathetic is that? U.S. Rep. William D. Delahunt and his followers need to get a life.

HAAAhahahhhaha. Oh, please.

Citzen Energy, of which the, ahem, 'non profit' is but one Citzen Energy of many. I think in the same office, Kennedy runs like almost ten different, supposedly, companies for profit. The non profit is the front for the suckers out there( no offense to you ).

Anyways,

The CEC [Citizens Energy Corp.] operates as a non-profit corporation but despite Kennedy’s personal wealth, which is reported to be in the millions of dollars, he receives compensation from his charitable endeavor of $400,000 a year based on CEC financial reports from 2003 (the last year upon which such reports were available).

http://www.classicalvalues.com/archives/003269.html

Note, I have heard upwards of $600K/year. Anyways, let's accept that it is still at $400k. That's a lot of oil for poor people, but I suppose a Kennedy needs that money. Now, if he is paying himself in his charity, $400k/year, immagine what he is pulliing of the 'for profit'?

Rockport Capital Partners: Investment Focus: Energy and Power ...Mr. James co-founded Citizens Energy Corporation and its for-profit holding ... then as Chief of Staff for Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II from 1986-1990, ...

But the real evil is that Joe Kennedy is sucking upto Chavez and other oil thugs all over the world and useing his anti-American as support for Democrats like Congressman Delahunt. Greedy traitors, one and all.

"In the next breath, she advocated that the way to hurt Chavez was to stop buying Venezualan oil. [She repeated this advocation again during her commentary.]

Neal didn't ask her about the contradiction in her statements."

Thats because there is no contradiction in her statements. The gasoline you buy at Citgo stations may or may not come from Venezuela just as the gasoline you buy at other stations may or may not come from Venezuela.

All gasoline sold in a particular area all comes from a central distribution terminal. These terminals buy gasoline from various refiners who in turn get their oil from various producers.

The Citgo stations only direct connection to Venezuelan oil is a marketing agreement saying they will buy their gasoline from Citgo distributors. Citgo, just like every other oil company, simply loads their trucks at the regional terminal and then adds a few quarts of additives per thousand gallons and wallah, you have Citgo, or Texaco, or whatever gasoline.

If we were serious about putting the squeeze on Chavez we could ban the purchase of Venezuelan oil, but it would likely hurt us, in the form of higher gas prices, as much as it would hurt him.

Thanks for the information. I have never bought into his Citizen Energy, but obviously gave him too much benefit of doubt.

Maybe the strong Kennedy/Chavez connection should be highlighted during this election cycle - I would love to see Teddy lose his Senate seat. I know this state is pretty ridiculous with its love affair with the Kennedy's.. but being held hostage to these oil-producing thugs is a national security issue AND energy issue - the Kennedy's are on the wrong side.

Nice pic.

The Citgo sign will still be flashing in all its glory long after Hugo has become history.

...replace Fenway’s famed Citgo sign with Old Glory...

Or they could level the place and block out that sign with the brand new ultra-high bleachers.
