I hope Blair and Parliament are prepared to withstand the cries of muslims in England who demand that Blair IMMEDIATELY apologize for Churchill's remarks.
I have decided that from now on, when I see a woman in a full burka in the United States, I am going to SPEAK OUT LOUDLY and say something along the lines of:
"If you think that you have to wear a burka to be righteous or if your men think you have to wear a burka to be righteous, then you don't belong in this country. When you wear that here, it's the same as me wearing a binkini where you come from -- it's an insult to this country's heritage, traditions, and culture. A lot of American soldiers have fought and died over the past 200 years to keep men AND women free. That thing that you wear represents slavery and is an insult to my father and every American veteran that ever lived."
No doubt bystanders will be shocked at my behaviour, and there will be politically-correct folks among them who will defend the burka-wearing woman by arguing that because America is free, she has the right to wear the burka.
My response would be along these lines: "Does the Ku Klux Klan have the right be masked in public while wearing t-shirts advocating slavery? Do neo-Nazis have the right to be masked in public while displaying swastikas? Perhaps they do -- and when they do, I have the right to say loud and clear what I think of them."
I would like to see Americans throughout this nation begin doing this. There's a lot to be said for public ostracism and public pressure. Pop history rarely mentions it, but English slavers of the early 1800s (businessmen in England who made their livings in the perfectly legal trade of importing slaves from Africa) were SHAMED by their fellow countrymen into giving it up. As Americans, we have the right to SHAME the slave-mentality of fundamentalist Islam OUT of our country. They pose a threat to every girl child in our nation, including your daughters and granddaughters. Burkas do not belong in the United States and we have a duty to eradicate them absolutely.

Churchill never ceases to amaze!! Virtually position he has taken has been vindicated by history.
The closest thing we have to a Churchill today is the guy your tagline give tribute to - Donald Runsfeld. History will look back at him with the same fondness as it does Churchill.
