Sounds like letting this jerk ito the US has been beneficial to our cause.

ex-CFR staffer Susan Maloney at the State Department has vetoed funding of the Iranian opposition radio and TV broadcasts, and training for opposition groups inside Iran, on the grounds that it might offend the Tehran regime.

That shows how stupid the people at the State Depaartment are. It's time to give the dissidents in Iran every help we can.

...Ahmadinejad met with two dozen members of the Council on Foreign Relations, then ending the evening by asking whether they were simply shills for the Bush administration.

The CFR will simply write that off to a misunderstanding and redouble their efforts to abase themselves before the hostage-taker.

Dr. Zin; I have been on your ping list for a good number of months and have found it ever so informative. Went to the demonstration at the UN against Ahmadinejad and was disappointed that there weren't more people there (maybe 250 or a bit more. The crowd was mostly Iranian supporters of MEK. Not that I have any strong opinion on MEK, (at this point, anyone combating the regime in Iran is positive)--but I thought there would be more different kinds of Iranian dissident groups.
Today's post about the CFR is quite dismaying. The fact that business interests trump national secur-ity/interests and human rights for the Iranian people shouldn't surprise us.

Has anyone seen (or posted) reports about the reaction of ordinary Iranians to President Bush's recent UN adress? (I'm assuming that Iranians had access to the text, but perhaps they do not?)
