Thank you. Laura and President Bush, please. Their eyes seem to twinkle when they are together.

Normally the RC is one of my all time favorite sports events to watch, but this year, I just didn't get into it.

I know what you mean. Somehow the tabloid trash about the American golfers' wives soured the whole event.

Personally I agree with all wearing ID badges at such events, if I remember correctly at the world cup in Germany the coaches (team managers) all wore them.

It does quickly identify who people are and what areas they are allowed to be in and to answer your question I am sure there are a lot of Irish who would not recognise him as I am certain there are many English people who would not recognise him as well.

Something to add to The Week Ahead: On Saturday, First Lady Laura hosts the 2006 National Book Festival on the National Mall.

Thanks very much for adding this info. It's harder to find info on her schedule than it is for her husband's schedule.

There was a lovely gesture by Tiger Woods earlier in this tournament and I believe again today with Darren Clarke. Darren Clarke recently lost his wife and this is his first tournament since at one point Tiger Woods actually shielded him from reporters who wanted to take intrusive photos of him in a very emotional situation. Incidentally Darren won all 3 matches which again emphasized how sporty Tiger has been.

Unfortunately the toon was there as well today, probably to escape Hilliary's wrath after his tirade on FNS as this cannot have helped her Presidential aspirations.

We won't see Bush Sr fall down the stairs unless something happen to him LIKE BILL CLINTON did at that golfer crib LOL!

LOL!

Re the Saints-Falcons game tomorrow, I don't think Clinton will get booed. Louisiana (and especially New Orleans) is Democrat-friendly.

Oh Ohio how sorry it is so hard when one looses or has to put down a pet.

My heart goes out to you and your family especially your children who grew up with him.

OK, I'm posting them in honor of your Cinnamon.

The kittens you all have heard so much about; the ones that were thrown in the trash where I used to work: The first photo is of the kitten I call China. The second is of her litter sister, who I've named Sugar. Each name has a background. China's whole lower jaw -- her chin -- is black. Chin is the ancient root of the words China and Chinese. (The Chin dynasty ruled from 221 B.C. to 206 B.C.) Sugar has always been the one of the three rescued kittens who needed the most love -- sugar -- and cuddling from me. She still does. :)

These photos were taken Aug. 3, when they were nearly three months old. Their estimated date of birth is May 10, 2006. When they were only about five or six weeks, they used to crawl through that garden hose. The kitten inside the coils would bat at her sisters through the coils, and the ones outside would try to figure out how to get her out.

Yes, I'd heard that, but I thankfully didn't see it. What I did see was his interview on FNS. I just called my sister to make sure that she and my B-in-law see the 2nd replay on FNC at 9:00 PM central. It is, without a doubt, MUST SEE TV.

...to answer your question I am sure there are a lot of Irish who would not recognise him as I am certain there are many English people who would not recognise him as well.

On reflection, I'm sure that's true. He has been out of office for over 13 years.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
