For more than 26 years, Congressman John P. "Jack" Murtha (D-Penn.) has not been truthful about his involvement in Abscam, court records and the complete video of his meeting with the FBI show.

In recent years, only a 13-second video of Murtha's videotaped meeting with the FBI agents was publicly available. TAS has obtained a copy of the full, original video from a source close to the Abscam investigation on the condition of anonymity. The court transcript is publicly available at the National Archives. Been reading Charlie Wilson's War. Great that Wilson was the advocate for defeating the Russians in Afghanistan. But because he was a dem, you also learn how Tip O'Neal used Wilson to save Murtha's butt in Abscam.

And in the background you are witnessing Carter destroying the CIA, and the dems sabatoging the effort to stop the Sandanistas. Little tidbits like Tip's daughter working directly with the Sandanistas in Nicaragua. The democrats are and have been a filthy corrupt disaster for decades.

I certainly support Ms. Irey in the current race, but it seems as if you may be more excited about this Murtha stuff than you should be, since it is not new.

I'm fairly certain that Murtha's involvement in Abscam has been publicized in some detail on FR before. He was very fortunate to escape indictment, when some of his colleagues in the House had to resign.

Still a good idea to post this thing as another reminder of Murtha's shady past and sleazy character.

Well, no, ABSCAM isn't new.

However, the revelation that all previous accounts of Murtha's involvement understated his complicity is.

The video clips of Murtha negotiating with undercover FBI agents that the Spectator presents and analyzes here have never been seen by the public, and were thought to have been destroyed. This is a significant development.

The video was shot by Oliver Stone for the new hit movie, "I'm a stupid Liberal" staring Jack Murtha. Oliver has said, "I love this man and I would never leave him or desert him to the enemies like in Platoon." Murtha couldn't be reached for comment. Though it cannot be confirmed penal security guards thought they heard, "I'll kill you Oliver!"

Irey is the only candidate I'm giving to this election cycle. I won't even give to my own rep (Sherwood, PA-10) because he's a putz (but I'll hold my nose and vote for him).
