Phil Angelides attends Sacramento anti-war rally

Gov. Schwarzenegger’s opponent Democrat Phil Angelides won’t back down on his pledge to return California National Guard troops stationed in Iraq. Angelides spoke at an anti-war rally attended by about 200 people at Sacramento City College Thursday.

Public opinion polls this week indicate Angelides trails Schwarzenegger by double digits.

Angelides expanded on his call for the return of California Guard troops, calling the Iraq war a fool’s errand and condemning Gov. Schwarzenegger for supporting the re-election of President Bush.

Despite a free lunch, fewer than 200 students attended the rally.

In a statement released by the Schwarzenegger campaign, Devore characterized Angelides’ call for the return of troops a political stunt.

“Phil Angelides’ proposal is clearly unconstitutional, and clearly an act of political desperation by a flailing campaign,” said Schwarzenegger Campaign Press Secretary Julie Soderlund.

Angelides knows he's going to lose big, so he's going to pull a George McGovern.

This clown has to be the worse Democrat in the nation, if there is such a thing.

Angelides is now in the moonbat camp. And less than 200 came out to hear him. Whatta guy!

George McGovern advocated an immediate withdrawal from Vietnam. He lost by the largest landslide in American history. The Democrats still do not get it - the war may not be popular but Americans do NOT like to hear talk of defeat and surrender.

Keep reminding me because I really do need to be told.

It's going to be difficult to vote for Mr Kennedy but my doctor says I have to do something about my blood pressure and the concept of Wild Phil as Governor could cause a stroke.

There is lots to contrast and compare between Arnold and Angelides:

Arnold actually did a lot, for which he doesn't seem to get any credit around here: he kept vetoing the drivers licenses for illegals, he was steadfast and did NOT raise taxes, despite the Dem pressure, he reformed workers comp, he kep CA from going bankrupts, by clever refinancing, he vetoed the homosexual marriage bill and several homosexual agenda bills, he vetoed the min wage several times and even now, when he signed it, he forced the Dem Legislature to take out the automatic inflation adjusted increases, which would have been a real killer for businesses, he also vetoed the healthcare bills requiring businesses to pay for health insurance of their workers, he vetoed the universal healthcare, aka CA government run socialized medicine -- this is just to name a few. A Dem governor would have done the opposite of all this, and we would have had a runaway socialist government in CA.

I think these are MAJOR accomplishments, given the circumstances.

Angelides must be really desperate if only 200 moonbats show up at one of his poorly attended rallies. And desperation leads losing politicians to do stupid things.

Well, don't forget, Angie's invisible friends were probably there, so that makes it at least a couple dozen more...
