I can't wait to hear his reaction to the Foley news. I just found out about that, but haven't read any of the e-mails Foley sent to the teen. Foley seemed to be a decent guy to me, but you just never know about ANYONE.

When I lived in Coral gables back in the 70s, after Nam, I was called to a neighbor's house, who'd been robbed, and after the police had gone, the two robbers came back. I carried concealed and captured the two at gunpoint; police got 'em, and my neighbor got the reward, and recovered his goods.

Savage is questioning that the (sexually explicit) e-mails by Foley could've been made up, but if that's the case, why did he resign? Savage now says that Foley might have gotten fed up with the MSM and decided to resign, but the guy's political career has (or had) been pretty rosy. Politicians just don't give up that sort of "job" without a fight, unless their political career is somehow jeopardized.

Savage brings up some very troubling things about the present media culture. Emails alleging sexual dalliances with a supposed minor are sourced to a high profile "news" website and one man's career and reputation is in the toilet at the speed of electrons. No formal charges levied, no cross examination of accusers, no trial, no conviction. I'm not saying he did or didn't do what is alleged, it just seems like a soviet-like culture of complete political annihilation is alive and well these days. It could be Nancy Pelosi and I would have the same opinion.

Innocent until proven guilty? I'm just asking that if the allegations aren't true, why Foley would resign? The guy's political future was bright, so why would he base his resignation only on a rumor? Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Oh I agree with you, PEOS. A Republican sending sexually explicit e-mails (if it's really true) to a 16-year-old page is front page MSM news and considered deplorable, but any sort of liberal, sexual perversion is acceptable or not even newsworthy. No doubt this is politically driven.
