Given the almost inconceivable incompetence, misjudgment and delusional pigheadedness of Vice-President Dick Cheney and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, largely unconstrained by Bush, the Republicans deserve a drubbing, and at the moment are more likely than not to get it.

But their defeat should not be because of this NIE which, far from undermining Bush's positions, largely supports them.

"almost inconceivable incompetence, misjudgment and delusional pigheadedness of Vice-President Dick Cheney and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld" are NOT given, and are ABSOLUTELY THE OPPOSITE OF REALITY, IMCO. The author loses much credibility here.

No...the author HAD to toss into his article SOMETHING anti-Bush so he can still get invited to the parties of his lefty buddies. The entire article is a literal point by point demoliton of the current liberal talking points. He presents things factually, logically, and with great clarity.

Every Republican congressman and Senator or a Republican candidate for offices in the U.S. House and Senate races should learn this article by heart. They should capture every nuanced point of view - because to do so totally nukes their opponents anti-Bush, anti-America, anti-Victory arguments!
