Muslim accosts injured Para in hospital

A paratrooper wounded in Afghanistan was threatened by a Muslim visitor to the British hospital where he is recovering.
Seriously wounded soldiers have complained that they are worried about their safety after being left on wards that are open to the public at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham.
On one occasion a member of the Parachute Regiment, still dressed in his combat uniform after being evacuated from Afghanistan, was accosted by a Muslim over the British involvement in the country. "You have been killing my Muslim brothers in Afghanistan," the man said during a tirade.
Because the soldier was badly injured and could not defend himself, he was very worried for his safety, sources told The Daily Telegraph.
A relative of the Para said the man had twice walked on to the ward where two other soldiers and four civilians were being treated without once being challenged by staff.
"It's not the best way to treat our returning men," he said. "They are nervous that these guys might attack them and, despite being paratroopers, they cannot defend themselves because of their injuries."
The Ministry of Defence, which said that it had no record of threatening incidents, indicated that there was a military security presence at the hospital and it co-operated closely with local police.
A MoD spokesman said there was "appropriate security" at Selly Oak for the 11 servicemen currently being treated.
But Liam Fox, the shadow defence secretary, called the treatment of wounded troops "an absolute disgrace".
"They should be in completely separate wings even if this means shutting down entire NHS wards. It is a betrayal of our troops having them treated in mixed and open wards. Those who have been injured on operations must be with those who understand their predicament in a secure environment.
"The Defence Secretary should be having urgent talks with the Health Secretary to do this otherwise this Government's commitment to our Armed Forces is nothing but talk."
There is also resentment among serving troops unhappy about being treated in a NHS hospital that they believe is unsuitable for military patients.
Soldiers on operations say they would rather receive a more serious injury and go to the top American military hospital in Ramstein, Germany, than end up in a NHS hospital.
They now half jokingly refer to getting "a Boche rather than a Blighty" in reference to the wounds that would send them home. Ramstein has an outstanding unit for brain surgery, and neurological intensive care beds in Britain are in short supply. "The blokes see it that if you are unlucky you get wounded and go to the UK at the mercy of the NHS, but if you get a head wound you get sent to Ramstein in Germany where the US has an outstanding medical facility," said an officer serving in Afghanistan.
"It also does not do morale much good knowing that within 18 hours of being wounded you could wake up in a NHS hospital with a mental health patient on one side and an incontinent geriatric on the other."
The latest figures show that 86 troops have been injured in Afghanistan during the past six months of fighting. More than 600 soldiers have been flown back to Britain after being injured on operations abroad since 2003 with most treated at Selly Oak, which is also the headquarters of the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine.
In the past decade the seven military hospitals in Britain, Germany and Cyprus have been closed. The remaining military hospital at Haslar, Portsmouth, is expected to be sold to developers next year.

I have spent quite a bit of time on British bases, due to the fact that I am in the defense industry. My wife is English and worked for the British Red Cross at British military hospitals. I know it's hard to believe but the British shut down all their Military hospitals which were not overseas. This was done during the 1990's in a cost cutting move. If you are a wounded squaddie and you get sent back to the UK, you'll be thrown in to the national health system and wait for care like everyone else. Hard to believe now, but England was once a great nation.
The Brits are slowly reverting to savagery right before our eyes. It is sad for them and it bodes ill for our own national security as well. I hope they figure out some way to stop the slide but I just don't see how they'll do it. Between the jihadists; the hard-core leftists; the ignorant, besotted yobs; and the cynical, hyper-materialistic yuppies, there just aren't enough decent common people left to pull Blighty out of its death spiral, I'm afraid. This is what happens when you turn your back on God and your own history.
After spending three weeks in Britain last month, my opinion is that the average Brit has had it with the crazy Muslims infesting their country. Especially after the John Reid incident where the Home Secretary was verbally assaulted by an Islamic thug who questioned his right to go to "Muslim" areas in London. The letters-to-the-editors were full of Brit comments to the effect that if the Mozzies don't like Britain, they should get out.
I think the average Brit citizen detests the Muslim infestation. However the ruling gov bodies are too eager to give in to p.c. John Reid, the Home Secretary, is one of the few gov figures who has the Islamo-fascists figured out.
What is happening here, then, is that slowly but surely the cities are taking charge of illegal immigration problems, changing their laws, refusing to be Sanctuary Cities. Looks like the Brits will have to take charge of their country too.
Isn't the government instituted BY citizens to protect our rights? And if they don't, we have the option/ no, we MUST kick them out and get a better government?

The issue is whether the decent people of Britain will be able to stop Britain's spiritual, moral and cultural decline. You say the Brits are bombarded by leftist propaganda. True. But who's doing this bombarding? Brits. Capital punishment is popular yet illegal? Again, who has effected this situation? They have. Their leaders eagerly adopt suicidal policies, yet who chooses their leaders? They do. There won't be "plenty" of decent people in Britain until those decent people arrest and reverse these trends. My point is that I just don't see this happening. Sure there will be a few letters printed in the least leftist papers, and reports of grumblings down the pub, but this is just smoothing the slide to serfdom and then barbarism, by my estimation.

Our troops are safe in hospitals, as safe as the VA gets, but we'll protect 'moderate muslims' until the Bosnian and Kosovar islamists show up - at which time they'll tell us its useless to profile.

Being in Britain for three weeks didn't make me an expert. But I didn't see any signs, after going virtually from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland including trips to four major Brit cities, that Islamic radicals were on the verge of taking over. I spent four days in London, and I think the word "Londonistan" is a bit exaggerated. They do have very prominent mouthpieces and populations in London and a few other major cities, but their overall strength is still very limited. Let's hope that the Brits kick these troublemaking idiots out before it does go too far. The Brit government has a little too much tolerance for those who would destroy Brit traditions if not civilization.
You have missed my point. I did not state that Britain was on the "verge" of anything. I referred to present trends and the ineffectualness of those Brits opposed to these trends. If you are heading toward the falls and you have lost your paddle, the fact that you are still in your canoe and surrounded by nice scenery should provide little comfort.
I'm not directly accusing you of saying anything. I was speaking in general to any posters who are saying that Britain is turning into a Muslim state. I apologize if you felt that I was accusing you of saying that.
