On Tuesday, September 12, 2006, Dr. Edward L. Rowan of Exeter won the Democratic nomination for the New Hampshire House of Representatives in District 13 which includes Exeter, Stratham and North Hampton.
Rep. Eileen Flockhart, also of Exeter, is actively promoting Edward Rowan as a candidate, despite the public knowledge of Rowan's sketchy history and views.
Ed Rowan is a retired psychiatrist. He was sanctioned by the medical board for having a sexual relationship with a patient. He appealed the decision to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, claiming the board had no right to sanction him.

Dr. Rowan is the author of a number of books, including "The Joy of Self-Pleasuring." In his book, Dr. Rowan advocates teaching masturbation to children of all ages:
"[S]ome of these messages are ambivalent at best about the normality and natural function of masturbation. We need to teach that it is even more than that. For instance, if adolescent males were encouraged to masturbate using condoms, they would become accustomed to that feeling and not hesitate to keep partner sex safe. In another work entitled "Understanding Child Sexual Abuse," Dr. Rowan revealed that he has controversial views on what he calls "adult-child sex":

"[T]he growing body of research ... indicates that ... adult-child sex ... is not inevitably harmful. To assume that it is always problematic helps to create 'victims' where there may be none and . . . creates 'abusers' where there may be none either." "'[C]hild sexual abuse' is a social construct. Our society believes that sexual contact between adults and children is wrong. It does not matter that the ancient Greeks waxed poetic about men having sex with boys or that in some cultures children were introduced to sexual behavior by designated relatives." The Democrats in District 13 are running with Dr. Ed Rowan as a "team." Incumbent State Rep. Eileen Flockhart, who sits on the children and family law committee, is promoting Dr. Rowan for office in the local newspapers:
"This year's race for state representatives in District 13 promises to be very interesting. Democrats in the community have put together a very dynamic team... Ed Rowan of Exeter is a retired physician whose main concerns are that all children have access to affordable health care, that women retain the right to choose and that there is an equitable solution to the school funding dilemma that does not penalize seniors on fixed incomes."

If Dr. Rowan wins the election, the other legislators will rely on his experience and defer to his views.

The Bible says God killed him for not fullfilling the custom of giving his dead brother an heir...Onan actually comitted an act of withdrawal during intercourse is my reading of it though it certainly could have been masturbation. If masturbation were the real sin then a lot of us males would have been "ahem" dead before we reached the age 12!
Onan was a son of Judah....it was from the line of Judah that "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" would emerge. One can get an idea just how seriously God took Onan's act of rebellion as it would effect events some 1.5 millenia later!

Not only that, but for pretending to carry out his societal obligation while refusing to do so effectually. The bible provided that men in that situation who did not wish to lie with their brother's widow could publicly refuse to do so, but would have to accept the public's condemnation. Onan tried to cheat--to reap the benefits of performing his obligation without actually having to perform it.
Judah was the same line thru which Jesus Christ would come...My personal opinion is that Satan tried to stop the coming of Jesus. He tried again thru the holocaust of the first born Hebrew males in Egypt. Herod tried to kill all male children under 2-3 years of age in Bethlehem but Jesus already escaped with his parents.
It makes you wonder with today's holocaust of aborted babies just what Satan is trying to stop now!

It occurs to me that somebody with this huge a fetish about masturbation to make it a very wide plank on his political platform and thereby politicize it as a partisan position, is also of the political party that makes a fetish of the "choice" of abortion. Consider both these things as if they were each illuminated by the light of the other. The men blithely wasting their sperm whenever the whim strikes them, and the women grabbing onto their "right" to destroy burgeoning life within them. Another way to waste the sperm their Lib "partners"
forgot to waste, and both these things treated as if they were "positive values".(Pause) God, I'm good.
