I don't think it is the fact that the school caved as much as the fact that if a Jewish or Christian student or parent had asked for similar accomdations they would be laughed out of the building if not sued. The western countries bend over backwards to placate Muslims out of fear and homage to political correctness while showing total disdain and disgust for western religions.
At least that is my comlaint.
"Muslim commuinities belong in Muslim countries"
Yes
You're missing the point completely. CAIR is working very deliberately and very diligantly to undermine our laws. Violent jihad is not the only form of jihad. Currently at play in America is a political and cultural jihad. It remains under the radar of most Americans.
Precisely.
Don't forget Jerusalem, where you can't carry your Bible on the Temple Mount.
Which is, of course, why they are here. They fully plan to make America a Muslim country.
Note that the Fairfax Va campus of the Islamist school is located on:
Pope's Head Way
Kinda' fitting!
Just what I wrote. Aint nothing changing between us and them until their woman are emancipated from slavery. Reproductive slavery. We have to adopt liberal talking points to beat them. Kind of hard since we agree with them philosophically on the subject of the miracle of life. A real mess.
How would the school respond to a modesty complaint from a christian parent?
Then why involve CAIR? If I didn't want to wear shorts in school, I wouldn't have called a Catholic legal association.
How so?
"This issue is not about modesty -- it is the camels nose inside the tent -- setting precedents. I resent having to accommodate "special" groups on anything that is good enough for the rest of us."
I agree. We have the same thing over here in the UK. Small world.
Pope's Head Way,
And the islamofachist's are calling for the pope's head!
I was hoping that's what you meant. It hit me wrong when I first read it. I apologize and agree!
I honestly do not see what the problem is here.
The theory that allowing Muslim girls to wear more modest apparel would be enforcing "Shari'a" on the public at large doesn't seem to me to hold up. It would be objectionable if the Muslims were trying to enforce their rules on others, but I didn't see anything in the article indicating that was the case.
I'm pretty sure that it is perfectly possible to participate in physical education classes without necessarily having to wear shorts. What would be wrong with letting this kid go to the class dressed in, for example, a modest sweatsuit outfit?
Muslims, btw, are not the only people concerned that their children not have to wear immodest clothing. Other groups share that concern -- orthodox Jews, Mormons, many conservative Protestant, have some of the same concerns. In a way, after seeing so many little girls dressed like Britney Spears wannabes and hookers-in-training, a concern for modesty is quite refreshing.

On second thought, maybe the young muslim gal should just be given a pass.
